  1. Hello all,

Just put the boat away last week and in putting away my tackle I've decided to clear some things out, all of it is in new or like new condition. $200 shipped CONUS.

    Includes the following:

    • Flashers - (2) 10" Big Weenie (Spotted Dick Glow, and Playin in Playa UV), (3) 8" Coho dodgers, (1) Chrome Size 0 Luhr Jensen Dodger

    • (2) 15" Amish Outfitters Buggy bags - already rigged with ropes, only used twice and then sat in the boat for the rest of the season, just not big enough for my rig.

    • Snubbers - (6) Dreamweaver 12" Ripcord and (2) 12" Scotty Downrigger heavy duty

    • Planer Boards - (3) Port and (3) Starboard Yellow Birds painted fluorescent orange, no clips will need to add your own

    • Line - (1) 5 Color leadcore and (1) 200' 45lb Torpedo Weighted Steel

    • Releases - 2 sets of Offshore heavy tension downrigger stacker releases which is really 4 releases in total, (2) Big Jon Otter Releases

    • (6) Stinger Dive Bombs - 1oz

    • (10) Amish Outfitters lure covers - great for keeping lures on the rod when storing at the end of the day and preventing tangles

    • (1) Plano line spool case, holds 6 spools of line

    • (12) Shimano Talora rod butt caps for gimbal butts - I just don't need these, never used came off the rods I purchased this year

  2. Great pics! What was your coldest temp at ball depth?

We had 56deg on the surface and 55deg on the bottom in 100FOW. No temp break to speak of but the bait was there. Forgot to mention that the steel were all full of baby ales about 2" long, nice to see that.

  3. Storing the boat on Tuesday so we took advantage of the great weather and headed out Sunday afternoon for the last trip of the year and ended on a high note. The plan was to drop in at 100FOW and head West until we found them, but we ended up never needing to leave the 95-105FOW range. Had lines in the water from 2-6pm and finished 12 for 17 with 7 steelhead, 3 shaker kings, and 2 lake trout; we lost another laker at the back of the boat and several high flying steelhead. N/S troll, 2.6-3.2 SOG, straight out and a touch north of the pier heads. We marked more fish and bait than any other trip this year,  tons of marks and large mounds of bait as long as we were straight out from the piers, the marks dried up N or S of the pier heads. Also traded a steelhead for a couple ducks at the launch on the way out. Here's what worked:

    • 25' Copper - Stinger Steelie Stomper (Hot)
    • 50' Copper - Stinger Red Pepper (Hot)
    • 75' Copper - Stinger Red Pepper (Hot)
    • 100' Copper - DW Green Dolphin
    • 200' Copper - Stingray UV Mixed Veggie
    • 250' Copper - DW Green Dolphin
    • Rigger @ 40' - Magnum DW Blue/Green Dolphin
    • Rigger @ 85' - DW Blue/Green Dolphin
    • Low Diver out 100' - Magnum Silver Streak Super Screw
    • Low Diver out 100' - Magnum Happee Meal
    • High Diver out 120' - Stingray UV Green Dolphin

Unbelievable end to the season. Until next year....

  4. We use Scotty releases as well, a rod with a soft tip loaded up as much as possible helps with detection but sometimes when you have the rigger on bottom in 100+ FOW it can just be hard to see those little guys so we check them every so often. The way we see it is it's much quicker to check a rigger than a long copper/leadcore so it's worth it to do so when fishing near bottom every 30min or so. You could lengthen the tether for the release which is supposed to help with detection by allowing the head shakes to transfer up the line better, but we haven't messed with the stock length yet at this point. Only had a couple small lake trout draggers on riggers this year but that was with the ball bouncing bottom in 150+ FOW.

  5. Had lines in the water from 5:45-8pm last night and managed to go 3/3 plus a catfish that hit a Happee meal spoon on a 150 copper in 150FOW. We fished straight out and South, best water was 160-175FOW on a NE troll, 2.2 at the ball. Water warmed up quite a bit out there with surface temps around 67deg and 50deg down 50-60ft, it warmed slightly outside of 130FOW. Here's what worked:

300' copper on stern planer out the back of the boat - magnum modified blue dolphin - 2lb laker

75' copper - Stinger UV jäger bomb - 8lb steelhead

Low diver out 120' - magnum Happee Meal - 8lb King

October nights don't get much better than last night.IMG_1475689933.251474.thumb.jpg.b8a66518
