Saw this on our FB fishing reports page. This was for last night. Hope it helps:

SOHA was .  One circle in 110 -125fow. Couldn't keep six rods going this evening. Spoons and plugs at 2.2- 2.6 at the ball. Fish Hawk was crucial on the north troll with a good current at 75 feet down. Thermocline at 70fow. Lines wet at 6pm and cleaning these at 930-945.

Thanks, will try to make sure I’m back on here on a regular basis. Have been busy aka new left hip on 7/1 and  selling our SoHa house and moving to new senior housing in Holland from 8/13 to 9/8.

And, worst of all is I sold THE Reel Woman and most of her fishing gear to my friend Brian in Muskegon. Was going to sell to him next fall when i turned 80, but selling now helped the cash flow.

I have a few rides and great fishing report intel from people in SoHa and Racheal there has real close intel on what charters and others are doing bc she first mates for a few charters. Will be fishing and reporting on fishing trips on other boats aka w/Brian on my old boat next season and future SoHa, etc  trips.

I have one ride lined up in Holland where we now live and if anyone would like to invite this old fishermen out here, SoHa, SJoe, Grand Haven, Muskegon and my bucket list Pentwater that would be awesome.

Haven’t been reporting here much this summer; maybe bc there is a SoHa report group on FB.

Like I’ve seen for Holland, Muskegon, etc fall fishing for 2-3 yr olds is very good. Same for South Haven.

Sunday we were only 2-5 from 140-200’; Monday was good in 80-120; today it was 68-87’..

Thermocline at our buoy in 68’ was 49’ down; thus we ran riggers 45, 55,  65, dipseys 80’ and 90’ lengths of line out, 150, 200, 250 and 300 had hits.

Fished a little south right by the buoy.

All fish caught in 68-87fow except a small steelie in 120 on a 200.

Ended up 8 for like 12. 4 yr old  15+lb female king full of eggs, 3 small kings, small steelhead, a small coho and two fat sheephead.

Wonderbread mag spoon, mag Moonshine RV wonderbread and mag NBK glow took fish. No hits on green #5 with bk ladder back glow J Plug nor dragon slayer Pro King flasher W/pickle sunshine fly.

We fished mainly very near the buoy and a little north.

1’ or so waves. 

7 for 10 today; all natural Coho.
90-150’; riggers down 60, 70, 80; both mains n sliders took fish; NBK, bl dolphin, 3 shades of blue spoon; purple rv slider; gold dbl or crush  on 150; wonderbred SD w/pkl sunshine fly on  mag dipsey out 195’.
Worked out to 175 searching for kings; no luck.
Dead calm out there, was getting hot; flies and noseums were bad.
Cottonwoods seam a little better.
SOG 2.4-3.1.

Thought it might be same as last week fishin 160-200, 80-90 down. But, no.
Due to continued east winds fish have been in shallow colder water for past few days. Surface temp was around 56 from 50 fow to 125 fow. 
There were about ten of us boats working 65’ area near the buoy. It’s a morning and/or evening bite now.
We ended up 4 for 6. All small kings.
We got 3 in that area and lost 2 and got 1 in 115’. 
Riggers down 48 and 54’ got hits as did lost coho on pink panties slider. Mains were rv blue dolphin and NBK.
150 copper w/double or crush got one and 250 copper w/rv moonshine wonderbread 2.
Speed was my usual 2.4-3.2. We fished stairght out to 3 or so miles south. Waves around 1’ with light east winds.

7 for 8; 2 steelie n 5 small kings; got 1 steelie in 142 on 300; rest of fish in 172-182. Riggers down 80 & 90. Blue dolphin took 4 kings - 3 on riggers n 1 on 300. Dipsey w/bl dolphin out 234’ took a king.

Pink panties on slider took a king.

Nothing on 150, 200, 250 or 400 nor Dragon Slayer flasher w/pickled sunshine fly nor Double Slick SD w/gr fly. 

1’ waves; wind NE 10.

SOG: 2.5-3.2.

Fished 112-145 south; most fish came from dunes to Palisades; took while to find them; started in 35’ and kept working out; 6 for 8; 2 13+ kings and 4 nice coho; lost coho and nice king.

100 w/gold double orange crush took 3;  150 w/dragon slayer SD/pickle sunshine fly took 2; lost one coho on shallow dipsey and nice king on 100.

Fish early came in 113’ area trolling south; later we turned north and got another king and coho in 142’.

SOG  2.5-3.2; 2-3s building up to 2-4s.

Got hits in 46-48 degree surface temp; nothing in 45 degree in 45-85’.

Limno had some intial problems but it is now showing depth temps and it’s updating.

Other buoys should be at data.freeboard. tech ….

These buoys are funded privately. 

So plan on making any size donation. I guess Port Sheldon buoy is in trouble due to lack of funds.

Went 16 for 17 today; 13 coho, small laker and 12 & 16 lb king; both kings on 2C; 17fow by Deerlick Creek n towards Palisades; usual program for me; anything down around 12’; red squiggles thin fish & rapala on 1C, orange spoons on 1C, 2C, 3C, mini dipsey and riggers down 12 & 13’ 30’ off ball.

Sog 2.3-3.

Got pretty breezy, started 1-2s n when we pulled at 1 1-3s.

Talking to DNR Brian yesterday found out why Saturday was a zoo at SoHa launch.

DNR launch in Benton Harbor has construction going on and not much room to park vehicle/trailer and only 1 lane for both in/out traffic.

Sewer line broke and is being repaired.

16 Coho for 18; threw 2 dinks back.

Fished 37-42 fow from mile or so north of piers to 3 miles south.

Just about everything took fish; 1C, 2C,3C, 2 mini disc dipseys, high line and 1 rigger. Brad’s Red/Bk Squiggles thin fish; Rapala firetiger; Yeck Hambone spoon; gold DOC spoon; other orange spoons shown; caught fish both uphill and down; Sog 2.3-3.1.

Waves 1-3s from south.

Will be hitting Cook plant water in a few weeks as soon as all the hard water disappears!

let’s have a fun season.

Been warm last few days. Shore ice is melting pretty fast; should be out at Cook plant for Hos/Browns end of February.

Not sure. Good question.

Earlier fish we caught had been eating large alewives.

Forgot to mention that in addition to smelt, kings/steelies have been eating minnow size, class of 2024 alewives.

Interesting.

6 for 9 in 137’-165’; riggers down 137 & 140’.

260 copper had 4 hits with dirty harry reg size spoon - landed 1 king and 2 steelies.

Nothing on 200,300 and 450 copper nor dragon slayer SD, shown in pic, on SB mag dipsey out 240’. Port mag dipsey out 220’ with blue glow meat rig had a rip on it n then no one home.

Orange ss spoon here got 1.

He got some nice kings and 2 coho.

All fresh silver fish.

on way back from steelheaders mtg just now saw 2 boats out there about in that depth.

3 for 3, in 137' dragon slayer flasher/pickled sunshine fly on 124mm dipsey on 3 out 212'; in 165’ rigger down 105 on super slim A Bomb spoon,  in 154’ 124mm dipsey out 239'  on super slim orange/yl  spoon shown.
Guy at fish cleaning got 5 in 80-100'.

1-2s; speed usual 2.6-3.1sog

7/30 Went 6 for 6; 19 and 2 17lb kings.

If you can believe this we caught a big catfish in 100fow.

Meat, Pro King dragon slayer flasher w/green fly took most. Riggers down 65’. Fished 100 fow.

Five eyes and rv blue jeans also took fish.

Calm water; speed 2.7-3.2sog

7/31 Went 4 for 7; each dipsey on 2.5 out 175’ took a fish on Pro King dragon slayer flasher n fly. Also rv blue jeans and mag MS rv flounder pounder took fish.

Fish came in 100-118fow; 

Started to get nautical; 1-3s built up to at least 2-4s.

8 for 13; 5 kings, 2 lakers, one nice coho.

All fish in 100fow a few miles south.

Fish came on 200, 250, 300 copper, wire divers out 120, 150 n 165, riggers down 48 n 61.

Best baits: Rv wonderbread spoon, blue n green meat rigs and “megatron” dodger w/green fly.

Nice big king at 23lbs.

They wanted faster speed today; 2.9-3.3sog

Lost a lot of wire yesterday to tangles. Was thinking about splicing on some more wire using Albright or modified Albright knot and cover with small piece of shrink tubing.
