I went perch fishing the past two days out of Holland with my dad. Had the most luck in front of the pier in 35ft. There are a lot of little ones mixed in with the jumbos. We caught about 30-40 on tuesday keeping only 14 and saw a guy get a nice salmon fishing off the pier. Yesterday we fished a few hours and got 8 keepers and also caught a 7lb sheephead on a perch rig. We used minnows. fatheads and sand shiners both kind seemed to work the same.

I fished the Muskegon River this past weekend down river of the rogers dam. It was the first time i fished that part of the river and caught quite a few small pike and some nice size smallmouth. Lost 2 big pike at the boat because we left the net at home. We used spinner baits and jigs. White seemed to be the hot color.

Had a friend call me last night to go fishing. He's from Adrian and has never caught a sheephead so i thought i would introduce him to the species. Went out to lake macatawa last night from 6:30pm-10:30pm. We were trolling rapalas on the south side of the lake acrossed from OBI in 10'-25' of water. It was kind of slow but caught 6 sheephead and a 27" walleye.
