finally got a 2 man limit, not bad for a rookie. to bad i had to do it in 6 footers and rain. at least i didnt have but 2 other boats 2 look out for lol

so the same downrigger that broke a cable a couple weeks ago. now the auto stop no longer works. it worked after i put new terminator on but now it doesnt work. im thinking maybe bad cable, as all the others still work fine, or does someone have more educated guess. also thanks for advice tom about cable piling up on one side, seems to help.

broke on way down. guessing 10' up from terminator. no where near bottom. didn't see kink but not sure as i was watching counter.

brand new mag10stx. cable broke on my downrigger, of course it was the one with my xd4 probe on it. so im out probe 12lb ball and chamberlain release . in need of replacing cable with something that will eliminate that from happening again as i cant afford $360 every trip, not to mention i like using the fish hawk i bought but kinda hard with probe on bottom of lake michagan. no nothing about buying cable just know i want something aint gonna break and needs to work with auto stop. thanks in advance.

had couple knots break yesterday. what type of knot should i be using for my flies at the hook. guy told me to try polamer knot, will be running some today but would appreciate some input from some of you experienced folks.thanks much. p.s. not enough bites to be loosing any to broken knots lol

im gonna order a 70dv on friday won't have gvc 10 blackbox so not sure if downvu works without it. next month will get gvc 10 if needed. fishing kewaunee on the 20th so will report results on unit then

anyone have any knowledge on garmins downVu/sideVu technology? looking at a 2nd monitor wondering if garmins CHIRP has any benifits 2 fishing salmon on michigan or is it wasted money. sure looks cool but at $570 it needs 2 be useful out there also

got 2 try my xd4 also. seemed to lose signal shortly, very infrequent though. all in all was very pleased with results and am very glad i added it.

got my new sport pilot. working on installing it. everything seems pretty straight forward. however drive unit that fits steering shaft seems like i have to pull pretty hard to line straight up and down. i have wheel all the way starboard like instructed, think i can get it mounted alright. question i have is when will it unlock and give me free steering back? after i complete install of everything and connect power? boats in my shed will be taking to kewaunee friday night. trying to install before i go as well as finish 2 roofs lol. any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated.

i have 1 of there radar arches and couldnt be happier. also when i ordered it i ordered wrong feet (my fault). when i called guy told me send em back 4 exchange. had new feet in a week no charge so customer support also gets good review from me

trying to get better understanding of low and high diver set ups. what i have is 2 walker 107's and 2 magnums with rings on them. 107's set on 1.5 deep and magnums set on 3 high, is that right? and what should the line out be to keep them split correctly.

ill be fishing salmon in algoma or kewaunee. ill be pulling 27# leadcore with 50# powerpro backer with a piece of 30# mono for connecting the release; thanks to all of you for the info on the line setup.lures i have are spoons, flasher/fly combos and j plugs.its my first time with my own boat so trying to learn. ive been out a fair amount with others in the past 30 yrs, mostly charters, but have never seen anyone run planer mast.

ive never used planer riggers but seeing as how i mounted a duel electric mass i believe ill be using one. was wondering what everyone prefers using for releases and were best place to order them is, before i invest more money unwisely.was thinking the offshores but like i said i got no clue.

got a new mast from fishing and hunting usa..........awesome question about wiring. says to wire with 10awg which is what i had planned as it will be a good run from box to switch to motor. confusion comes from switch that came with it has 12' of 16 gauge on 1 side and 10' of 14 gauge on other with 10amp breaker in switch.should i use switch and or wire included or get different wire and or switch.
