  1. Well I must say it was definatly a "Blast"! I had Trout Tracker and his cousin Don aboard and with our knowledge we were able to get the second place award! We run a planner mast with Otter Boats, three lines off each side all with stick baits in various patterns. Two riggers with spoons usually but they were dead untill we changed up and put a mustard thunderstick on one. Orange jointed rapala was the best bait for us but we picked up fish on several others as well. No spoon bites. That is unusual for us. We got all the hits under twenty fow but one hit close to thirty on a yellow hot-n-tot which we missed. Also ran a flat line down the shute and took a fish or two on that. Two browns and seven coho with several misses. Not a bad day! Rick
  2. Not me! I do not know who it is.
  3. Might be the Mulls but wyle cyote did not fish with them.

  8. Fished this morning with Trout Tracker so we could put a package together for next weekends Brown Blast! You know, talk stratagies, work out a game plan, figure out all the how to's and the what for's.....now you southerner's don't need to worry much because we didn't do to good today. Fished from first light untill about 2 I think, Larry caught a nice 12 + spring KING! Nice fat sassy king. Gave him a run but Larry stuck with it and we put him in the box! Good job! Much nicer conditions then St Joe yesterday! Rick
  9. I fished out of St Joe this morning and did ok. We statred about 6:30 and fished untill 1:00. Made a couple passes around the pierheads with no takers so we ran south, set up just north of the chalets and soon took our first fish. Continuing south we hit a little warmer water around the cook plant and worked it with several more takers. Ended the day with 1 brown and 8 coho. Missed almost as many throughout the day and a couple were good size fish. It was fishable for the better part of the morning and when we decided to pack it in it was a little bumpy, took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get back to the piers. Stickbaits did most of the damage with a couple spoon feeders! Thanks to Justin and Glenn for going along, I did enjoy your company and you boy's learn quick! Rick

  18. Mike, Sorry to see you give it up. I would just like to say that everyone may have an opinion on tourney issues but if you are just looking to get a few boats out for a good time and have some fun then just post it up! No need to make it so complicated. If ya want 3 in a boat make it so. If ya want all methods of baits/lures make it so. If ya want to limit the number of rods make it so. I believe most of us are in it for the enjoyment of the activity and for those who choose to be big tourney players with lots of stipulations then they may not want to play! Someone once said "Keep it simple Stupid";) Lets go fish! Rick
  19. I got up there just a tick after daylight, six other fellas already had their slammers up. I picked a couple good looking holes from the previous day's fisherman and set up with a bag on one and skein on the other. Looked around and realized how nice of a morning it is. Sun just about to pop, a few scattered clouds and no wind. Temp said 14 degrees but it felt warmer. I walked over to the other fellas and introduced myself and talked a bit. Seems two of them had good luck yesterday with three fish each but most came late in the day. I came back near my setups after a short while and soon one of the other guy's slammer started jumping. After a quick battle he managed a nice 5 lb hen. The local geese were flying all morning, they would leave the marsh and fly right over head. Seeing these birds fly over that close is pretty cool, makes you wonder. I switched out the bag for a couple waxies and freshened up the skein, hoping to see a rod hop! I sat back on my bucket only because I forgot my chair. The wind is just starting to show up so I park my back to it. I sat and thought of many things, some going on right now and some already have past. Some things I have no control over and wish I could change. Some of my thoughts were of things I did have control of and wonder how it would be if I did things differently. Fishing alone can be a good thing, it was for me on this day. I remembered a few of the times I fished with my brother and some of the things I learned from him. I laughed out loud once and got looks from the other fella's. No telling what they were thinking! I said some prayers for friends who need them and shed a few tears as well. As I looked up at the beautifull sky I know He was listening. It was almost 10:00 now and two of the guys were packing it in. They wished good luck as they passed by. Shortly after two more left. I switched out baits again and sat back down in hopes. Surprised me no one else came out after me. There were many shanties up now, perchers I guess. Too far of a walk for me to see how they were doing. A couple trucks stopped by the bridge for a look, no one pulled out rods that I could tell. The rest of the morning passed with no action except for my wandering thoughts so I decided since it is noon it must be lunch time! I packed my gear and said goodbye to the remaining two fisherman. Stopped in at the Boat House Bar and Grill for a burger and beer. On the way home I stoped by White Lake to see how they were doing and the three fellas who were there all morning had no action at all. I sure did apprieciate a lot of things today!
