  1. Took a trip on my buddy's boat, mine was getting winterized.

Dressed up in ice fishing gear, we set out, hoping to alteast connect with one fish. Trolled for about 2 hours with no bites, then finally a bite! Thought at first it was a 4 yr salmon still looming around. Made a few runs then we were able to finally get a look at the fish. It was a big browmn trout. After a few tries at the back of the boat, we finally got it to the net. Big sigh of relief!

The fish measured 33inches and weighed 17lbs, i wish i measured the girth cause it looked like it was going to explode. Best of all was that the fish was caught on one of my custom stickbait patterns.

Will post pics tomorrow. Biggest brown I've caught and seen caught out of the Kewaunee area in a long time.

  2. Thanks guys!! I actually get a lot of my ideas from salmon spoons, I like the color patterns. Something different that maybe the fish will react better to.

RedRider, once I start up painting more in a couple weeks, I'll shoot you a message, maybe we can work something out. That one is the new #9 flicker shad.

  3. We were in canada doing some moose hunting, weather was seasonably warm, so we took a break from hunting and did some river fishing. Caught lots of fish. Most of them 19-23inches, but in the river we were fishing, you could only keep 2 and only one could be over 18". It was hard to catch a under 18" fish, but that also made it fun!

P.S. did not shoot a moose on this trip unfortunetly

  4. Ditto on what diztortion said..sometimes i dry them, sometimes i don't. Most of the time I leave them out a few hours on paper toweling to firm up a bit.

Building C's: When were the eggs "WET". When they first get cured in borax o fire, the bag gets real juicy, and after a day curing, the eggs absorb the liquid and get nice and plump.

  5. Please don't use them, they are terrible baits and I don't see how they would ever fool a fish.

Except for these which were obviously not very intelligent!

C'mon Jeff, you know you like saying "Custom" whenever we get one on those baits. I can't see your pics tho, computer is not letting me see them.

  6. Trying to hide all this good information from me, haha, just kidding.

I think you got some skills tho! :thumb:

Oh great Im in the "friend zone".

How did I not tell you about this site brian?

I have been creeping around here for a couple years.

I have them so fooled, they put advanced fisherman next to my name.....silly rabbits.

  7. Worked 90-110fow most of the evening. Didnt mark a lot of fish, surface temps were 70degree again. Did manage to pick up 7 fish tho. 3 nice four year olds, and 4 nice 3 year olds. Was overcast and hazy, so I ran glow spoons for majority of the evening before it got dark.

Heres a run down of what we ran:

    Downrigger @ 80: meat rig 1-1

    Downrigger @ 55: hot lips spoon 1-1

    Downrigger @ 65: bloody nose spoon 1-1

Mag dipsy @ 88loc: mini meat rig 0-1

    Slide diver @ 120loc: rainbow spoon 1-2

200 copper: crab face spoon 2-2

4 color: ratchet jaw spoon 1-1
