  3. Yeah i took a little bit to find the fish as they were definitely scattered! I cant ever remember the water being that cold up front this time of year!
  4. Fished whitehall this morning went 10 for 14. Started in 35 fow marked alot of bait and fish in close but no takers. Trolled out to 70 fow and slowly started to peck away at fish. What worked: 1/2 core with moonshine flounder pounder took 4 fish biggest being 21#er. 1/2 core with moonshine double trouble took 1 fish. Wire dipsey 3 setting with 11 inch white F/C and purple taco glow Mirage fly 110 back. Rigger 45 down j-plug #5 green glow spatter back Rigger 55 down glow yeck verdict Rigger 58 down moonshine mongolian beef Rigger 80 down yeck UV green dolphin. All spoons were magnums. Slowly pecked away at fish from 70fow to 130fow with 90 being best. Surface temp was 42 degrees and 39 degrees in 90fow 30 feet down. Most fish were between 6 and 10 lbs. Did catch a 13,15,17 and 21#er though! All kings! Great day on the water! Good luck and tight lines to all! Lee "runaway"
  5. Hey guys, I started out running wire with roller guides and i found them to be a pain and always want to get caught in the very tip of the rod which created alot of slack in turn losing the fish. And trust me i lost ALOT of fish with that problem. So i got rid of the roller guides and went out and bought 2 daiwa heartland dipsey rods which i believe are 9 foot. And i use daiwa GL47lc linecounter reels which the combo is fairly inexpensive yet very dependable. i found both to be a phenomenal combo! And yes twilly tips are a must if you dont have roller guides. Hope i could help! Lee "runaway"
  6. Haha yeah i have no problem taking care of a dirty thirty either! I just hope the weather cooperates because this may be one of the last weekends ill be able to make it out this fall. So im anxiously awaiting this weekend hoping the weather and mother nature are on my side!
  7. Okay yeah i was going to say ill give you a bump on the radio but you will be quite a ways north of me. And when you say that the weather will be manageable what do you mean by that because i actually have an 18 ft. Starcraft. Thanks for all the input guys!
  8. Yeah because i am going fishing this weekend friday, saturday, and sunday out of whitehall and they are calling for 6 to 9 footers already and it kinda bums me out! So i was wondering ifninshould wait to see what happens or cancel the trip all together. Its a toss up for me. So any advice from you guys helps and is greatly appreciated!
