  1. Barring someone who fishes today reporting something more exact later today, my plan for tomorrow is to head out to about 50 foot and start setting gear while headed on a troll that contains mostly a westerly direction. I plan to head westerly until I find fish or the temp break on the surface and then work that water. It could be 80 foot, it could be 160 foot. Wednesday I fished 150-160 and caught fish(8 for 10), but also know of someone who fished 50-110 and caught fish(18-21) and someone else who fished 125-135 and caught fish(6 for 12). Water is moving around alot. I was fishing Mag dipsys on 1 setting 65-75 out, standard dipsys on 3 settting 80-90 out, 3 color, 150 copper, 200 copper and 250 copper and caught fish on everything. The only thing that didn't go for me was riggers anywhere from 30-45 down.
  2. Cool. Good luck in the morning. Also, I will be looking for a radio check, from anyone who is able, first thing in the morning on channel 72. Have asked for a check each of the last 2 times I have fished with out a response back. So, either people fishing those days are unfriendly, or my radio is only receiving. Thanks for any help with this.
  3. It was a great morning. I know a few of the reports are of fish in shallower under the warmer water, but I saw A LOT of BIG hooks on the graph threw the morning. We were in the COLD water the whole time. 41-44 degrees on the surface. Temp break on the surface was around 135 yesterday. When it dropped, it dropped fast. Never ventured out of the water because of the fish we were marking and the somewhat consistent picking away action we were having. Also, 2 of the fish we caught had adipose fin clips most likely having coded wire tags in them. First for me to catch.
  4. Headed out of Holland yesterday morning for what I was hoping would be the first non-problematic trip of the year. It was and we cought some fish as well. Unfortunately, due to some issues with a child at home on Tues night, I did not see the reports of fish in shallower, so we headed out to 100ft of water before setting lines. Headed west and hit our first fish in 150foot on a 150 copper. Turned south and worked the 150-160 foot of water range as that was where we seemed to be hitting fish and marking fish. Picked away thru the day going 8 for 10. Had 3 -13 pounders and an 18 pounder in the mix. One of the lost fish was a big one as well. Final total was 1-coho, 1-steelhead and 6 kings. Just about everything seemed to be working for us. 150 copper took 3 hits 200 copper took 2 hits 3 color core took the biggest king mag dipsy with green spinnie and green fly on 1 setting 65 out took one mag dipsy with white spinny and white fly on 1 setting 75 out took one Regular dipsy on 3 setting out 85 took 1 250 copper took 1 as well. Spoon selection was pretty much everything that has been mentioned in threads all week.
  5. I will be there with my boat the November Squawler.
  6. Unfortunately I have been unable to get my work shift changed. Of course that would be the weekend where I get scheduled/have to work a shift that starts at 12:30 rather than 4pm. Grrr only work that shift on my work weekend a couple of times a year. Oh well, catch you guys at the next one.
  7. Big Thanks to Silver Streak and Big Weenie for the prizes. They were much appreciated. Also a big thanks to all of you regulars for allowing me to participate in this little tournement. It was fun.
  8. Thanks Kevin, Wish I could say something other than the old saying, about a blind squirel finding a nut once in awhile. Cause that was all it was was blind luck. It was a good time, and nice to meet a few of you.
  9. I can't wait. Really looking forward to meeting some new fisherman, and talking to a few that I have met before(FBD and Dave Ash). Also looking forward to hopefully being able to pick the brains of those that have a lot more experience than I do.
  10. I got a crew together. So let the fun begin. Might just have to try mounting a keel in a scoter decoy off center to see if it will work as a planer board. LOL
  11. Guess I will have to mount the 50's on the front of my PT/landing craft looking boat. Shoot first, ask questions later. FYI Kevin(FBD), This is Goosemanrdk from the other site. LOL
  12. Sound's good. Like I said, I just have to see if I have riders. Amazing how that works, get boat with buddies all excited about it, do the restore work and then everyone is too busy to fish. LOL I have either met, or actually know a few that are here on the boards. I am sure some of you have seen my boat out of Holland the last couple of weekends. Ya can't miss it. It is a 22foot open bow painted in light and dark striped gray for open water duck hunting.
  13. If you guys don't mind a rookie(well at least compared to most of ya who have probably fished more times, on the big pond, in the last month than I have in my life) and I can manage to find a few riders, then I will give it a shot and bring my newly redone boat November Squaw-ler out on Saturday.
