  1. Fished out or Rockport Sat& Sunday with Here Fishy Fishy from Holland.

Fished between Stone Port and False Presquile in 100- 150 Fow.

    85' to 115' down.Riggers dipsies and copper 250 &300 all worked.

Sat 6 for 10 or so

All large lakers 26" to 30" lost a walleye and a couple of salmon.

Home made gobbie rig took 4 other two on spoons that I had never seen before.

Sunday 7 for 11 or so.

5 large lakers all 9 to 10#'s per dnr scale

    1 ~10# steelhead and 1 ~10# king.

Tossed two 15-18" lakers back had and a couple of screamers which were gone by time got the rod up.

Fished 85 to 100 down in 100 to 140 FOW.

Many large bait balls and fish marked in 75-85 FOW near bottom but no takers. Water temp was about 68 F. Didn't get any bites til moved out deeper

    and fished the temp break.:):)

  2. I've been using cheap pool thermometers for many years. seal them up

with rtv . drill a hole near top for quick draining.

to use attach to cannon ball or end or rigger cable swivel.

Lower down. wait about 10-15 minutes and bring up quickly[manual rigger works best]

read temp. If temp too warm dump water out and try deeper.

Also can used to check temp at depth fish marks are appearing to help determine type of fish being marked. My son has a clip on fish hawk that I like too but they cost upward of $100.

  3. Whats a SWR?

Why not run standard rigger line with a inline weight like the walleye fishermen do.

After the in line weight put a fluorocarbon lead to the lure set up.

Amount of inline weight plus number of feet behind ball determines how far away from

the ball and how much deeper you run.

We had to go to this type of set up due to the clear water in lake huron several years ago. When we fist started to do this we used a 3-way swivel and drop sinker to get closer to bottom when trolling structure.Found it worked when the the fish were suspended in the top 50' or so as well. You can run sliders but really have to get to the pole quick for slider bites. Stackers can cause problems with tangles. Have been playing around with the smallest dippsy's set off to the side inplace of the inline weight when running stackers.

Not much experiance to report on this set up todate

  4. Fished rockport again today with Here fishy fishy from Holland.

    Went 10 for about 18.

One 31" lake Trout plus three other nice lakers.

    1 king and 5 cohos.

    Fished 99 to 130 FOW

Fish came on riggers 76 and 105 down and on dippsiesfro 75 to 100 back.

Hot lures were any black silverstreaks with a latter back, latter back color didn't seem to matter .

31" laker came on a supperman.

Majority of bites came after 11:00 AM.

Had 1nice size laker on a black hookster with green latter back.:no::thumb:
