Nice report I am hoping to finally get back out this weekend

Set lines just outside the pierheads and marked a lot of fish but no takers. Worked that area for a while then headed out deeper. We ended up catching our one and only fish in 58 foot of water on a full core with NBK spoon. The water temp is back in the 60's on the surface after being 50 on Sunday. All in all still an enjoyable day on the water.

We went 2 for 3 out of Grand Haven this morning. First fish was a small king on a full core with NBK spoon. Second fish came on blue crush spin doctor with a blue fly on a clear slide diver set on 5, 140 feet back. That was a 15lb king. The other hit came on the same slide diver setup. All hits came between 95 and 115 ft.

From the reports on here sounds like the fish were really biting this morning.

Got out about 9 this morning and went 1 for 2 in about 60 ft of water just north of the pier heads. First hit came on a downrigger 50 ft down on a mixed veggie 11 pound king. Second hit came on mixed veggie 40 down on a rigger nothing home.

Thanks for the help. I bought a couple of them from Aurora lite tackle along with some spoons. I have also seen them at Gander Mountain in Grandville.

Just wondering if anybody has used the 4oz dive bombs. I am pretty new to Salmon fishing on the big lake and have just set up a couple of lead core poles. I was watching a fishing show and they were using them. What I am wondering is how much depth do they add to a full core and where on the setup should the be placed. Thanks for any help.

Try using a green spin doctor and green fly. Thats what I have been using and catching fish out of Grand Haven.
