  1. No way am I taking my woman out fishing with me. I make her stay home and do the dishes, laundry and clean the house. When I get home I have her wash my boat and trailer and clean my fish while im on my butt drinking a beer after a great day on the lake. I like to show her who the boss is. But what I do sometimes for her is, take all my CAZNIK GLOW FLIES and hang them all over the bedroom and with some beer. I give her a romantic night with the Caznik and Id be yelling Cazattack.

    Caznik

  2. That 40lber is the one that Sea-Mac is holding with his left hand. Man he was so tierd after that fight. Took him 50min. to get that hoge in. Nate had caught two fish before he ever got that big one in the boat. Caught that on a CAZNIK Glow fly. First time I had to use my fishing belt on a guy that was fighting a fish. Sea-Mac was so scared of falling over board that he told me to hook him up.

very nice Great job sea-mac and captcaz:cool:   :thumb: :thumb:

  3. It is much easier to use 20lb mono for your leader. As far as puting the superlines in the sheathing. Steve Arend has a GREAT idea. Get a VERY small sewing needle. Thread the needle with your power pro and feed the needle down the sheath. OF course watch your fingers so you don't get poked.

ANother way is to get some of the old school elmers glue the white stuff. Take about six inches of your power pro and with your fingers saturate the power pro with the white glue. Kind of whipe of the excess and let sit for a little bit. THe glue will stiffin up the braided line and you can then feed it into the sheath. But the needle thing is the quickest. And least messy unless you are a bleeder.

  4. Hello Members,

Well I took a trip out to Muskegon with Nate from Grand Haven and Sea-Mac from Grand Rapids out fishing with me this morning. Well let me tell you something, it was a BAD day  and it was a good day :) . Well here is how this whole fishing trip started like. I left my house to go and pick up Sea-Mac to take him fishing. While I was on M-6 heading to Mikes house, my tire blew on my boat trailer, man I was upset. Well after I changed my tire in the dark I finally met up with Sea-Mac. Then we went to Snug Harbor to wait for Nate. We put the boat in the water and started heading out on our fishing trip this morning. We started at 5:30am when we had the lines all in the water. By 6am the first fish hit on our dipsey rod and it was a big one. For 2 full hours straight I was so busy in the back of the boat getting all the lines back in the water after Mike and Nate was landing fish. Soons it got around 9:30am we had our limit of kings (9 kings). The dipsys only had one hit and that was 150' back with spider wire, using a blue bubble spin doctor and one of my Cazniks Glow Flies. All the downriggers went off pretty good to. We fished them from 45' - 60' down using all lures. The lures were Dreamweaver Glow Frog, Mag. Silver Streak Yellow Tail, Mag. Dreamweaver Green Dolphin, and two more lures that I do not know there names from. (Moonshine Lures) Also the full core went off 3 times with the Stinger NBK lure. We was fishing from 90' - 130' of water this morning. The surface temp was 74 deg's and the waves was 3-4 footers. We went straight out and then went 8 miles north. Then after the day of fishing Sea-Mac and I started heading to his house and my other tire happen to blow out also on 96 before the fruitport exit. So then I called up Sarah C and he took my car and drove from Hastings all the way over to where I was with his spare tire. After that we got all put together and finally made it home. Well this fishing trip I happen to blow 2 trailer tires, loose three lures, and lost my church board from a butt head that crossed my lead core. But I must say I had a great time fishing with Sea-Mac and Nate. The fishing was hot this morning.

Here is two picture that I happen to take this morning:

Glad you guys hammered the fish!!!!!!!! Sure was hoping to chat with ya on the radio but we had a dead boat:cray: :cray: :cray:

Wheres the pic of the 40lber? Those size fish are only for locals

  5. Step 4

Once you have the backing all the way down to the lead you will want to take your loosely tied over hand knot and work it up the line toward the end of the Dacron backing junction. Take the knot as far to the end as you possibly can. Once you get it into position pull it tight.

    Caution:

For mono this knot will NOT slip out. However for super braids such as Power Pro, Fire Line, or the like, you will want to tie TWO loose over hand knots to attach. This being dubbed the “Double Willis Knotâ€.

    Step 4

    Step 5

Start reeling. Try and keep some tension on the spool while you are winding it on your reel. Once you reach the desired amount of lead core on your reel you will repeat the above steps to add on a leader. I use some where between 12 and 100 feet of 20 to 25lb Mono for the leader. Leader length is all personal preference but I almost seem to find that a shorter leader will get more strikes.

Note: All the equipment needed to get started on Lead Core can be found at www.fishdogco.com. They have the Okuma lead rods, Convector 30L, and 45L’s, along with all the lead core and backing. They will even custom spool to your demands.

Can someone explain an easy way to feed the mono into the dacron?I have 25lb big game going into 27lb mason lead core and it took me forever to get it in the dacron 3" Any help would be appreciated.

P.S This article was a great help for me starting out with core:help: :help: :help: :help::D :D :D
