If you're still in Rockford, take a drive over to the Outdoorsman in Jenison. They carry the bloodrun at a very fair/good price.
I would spool a 300' of 45# for your setup, for the ports mentioned.

Fine choice either way. Don't let the 45# scare you though, you are not building a watch, you are deploying heavy line.
The first year I/we ran 45# copper I saw zero tangles/birds nest on the boat.
If I can do it......

Does anybody know which tackle shops handle Blood Run copper and wire in the Grand Rapids area?
I bought mine at The Outdoorsmen in Jenison last year. At the time the prices were much, much better than you'll find on the internet too.

Always a lot of talk how easier it is to run 30# copper. I'm sure it is but in my opinion don't let the 45# scare you. It's really not hard to handle, even for someone new to copper.
I picked up a bulk spool of 45# blood run last year and we back it with 30# mono on 55 convectors. It was my first time running copper and besides a a few kinks (fixed with a spro swivel, right on the water) I had no problems learning and running the stuff.

what knot do you use to tie the swivel to the copper?
looking for a few opinions..
"haywire twist"
There is a video of it on this page. http://www.fishdoctorcharters.com/template.tpl?selector=video
The doubling thru the swivel is not needed imo.

We use the Spro 50# swivels.
Never had a problem + quick fix on the water if you get kinks..
** We tie a haywire twist with copper then use shrink tube so the end doesn't fray. Then whatever knot you prefer on the other side with your mono.
