  1. Headed back out west of pier heads and a touch south dropped lines in 110fow and trolled west. Boxed a nice 12lb king 88down pink panties, speed at ball 3.2, ( a liitle hot)continued to pick away at them for 3 hours. Trolled out to 200fow and then back. I let a nice king get wrapped around the shoot rigger as my wife was battling it, and of course it snapped the line and gone with my hot happy meal Finished 5 4 8 It can only get better from hear on out. Going out again tonight. Good Luck to those who make it out there.
  2. Fished with a buddy just south of muskegon in 90fow. Washed lured for 3 hours until we hit a double header and boxed 2 kings- then nothing. Fish still scattered. Didn't make it out to deep water but I spoke with a guy that trolled out to 220fow and nothing. Mag NBK and Pink Panties took the fish. North troll SOG 3.1 Beautiful morning to be out on the water.
  3. I had the same problem until I crimped a blacks release about 12" above the probe. No problems since.
  4. Great Job! Always nice to make it in early to clean the fish and get ready for work the next day.
  5. Ran out to 100fow just south of muskegon where we had been doing fairly well and set up a SW troll 2.7 at ball had a quick release on DR 45down NBK- nobody home:confused: Trolled for 2 more hours working 80fow-120fow and nothing. Just couldn't get it right- well it turned into a nice boat ride. First goose egg of the season. Hope others had better luck:thumb:
  6. Sounds like a perfect ending! Great job, hope you continue to put em in the box!!
  7. Last minute decision with wife to go out last night- left marina at 8pm ran out 85fow and drop riggers only. Trolled SW 2.7 at ball picked up 2 nice sized kings 12 and 14lbs. NBK and Mixed veggie 40-45down in 95fow. Lake was fairly calm and the wife enjoyed the sunset. Hopefully they continue to get bigger although the smaller one taste better IMO.
  8. Bill, No we didn't see any baite balls- but then I have to be honest, not sure what they look like?? Good luck fishing this season.
  9. Thanks Fishsniffer, I see your doing well out of muskegon. Best of luck to you. Jake
  10. 0700 we ran out to 100fow just west of the nets south of the pier in Muskegon- buddy moved net and it fell overboard:mad: Now, what??? You guessed it- we fished and managed to box all six fish off riggers 40-55 down. Nothing bigger than 8lbs. Flinstone mag NBK and moonshine Happy Meal took all the fish. Best troll was NW- gps also went belly-up so no speed, all old fasion way and a little help from the fish gods considering we paid them a pretty nice net:grin: Nothing in any of the bellies- fish were hungry all were hooked deep. Best to luck and have fun out there, we certainly did
  11. I'ts always nice to put one in the box and especially when it's a newbie. He'll be hooked now. Great job!
  12. Thats awsome to here ! Great job and hope you have many more similar trips.
  13. We were in the same water 0700-1200. Had 2 rookies on board, lost more than we caught, managed to box 3 kings Ended the day 3 4 8 however. Best water was 105 20-35 down. Glad to here such good reports makes leaving the dock more exciting. Hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy this warm weather and has a safe time out on the big lake. Hot lure has been mixed veggie for us. Fishmael
  14. Finally made it back out for an evening of fishing. Worked water just south of muskegon in 95-105fow didn't mark any fish but did manage to go 6 4 6:thumb: Nothing huge but respectable fish 6-8lbs. Mostly rigger bite 40-60 down, double trouble and blue mixed veggie took all the fish. Not many boats out, but sounds like others did well as well:thumb:
