  1. Does this work with regular Bud as well?
  2. Last season was the first I used ledcore. I set up Depthmaster 7'6" rods for my corelines. Not too hard not too soft, I also have these rods on my down riggers. They are Med. action 12-20 line wt. and over all my favorite rod on the boat. Very tough, very versitle. With exception of the Okuma's that Fishdog set me up with for my wire lines, Depthmasters are all I use.
  3. I'll be out there but I know better than Free..
  4. Yeah right, Like I'm gonna fall for that one again..
  5. I STILL haven't caught a "big fish" on Lake Michigan. 16 lbs. maybe. But hey, I keep tryin.
  6. Well now, I guess that would depend on two things. your truck and local law enforcement. An 8' beam is legal on any highway and you can haul a 9' beam without too much attention. Depending on the manufacturer these dimensions may vary but a 25' length can have a 8' beam on the average fishing boat, but get up to 27' which is still by weight trailerable and the beam may be too wide to haul without a permit although I've seen some boats at this length that would be slim enough to trailer without a problem. If I were to purchase a trailerable boat for fishing I would say a 26' with an 8' beam would be the most stable in the water and give you the most comfort for extended trips yet get you in & out of the water at almost any launch without too much trouble and this would be by my preference, being the largest boat I would want to trailer to any port. As far as getting the boat on and off the trailer, practice makes perfect.
  7. My boat is 22' 7" long a (Slickcraft 22 fisherman) I have had as many as seven on my boat fishing at once but the younger ones where in the cabin watching TV. (extra lines ya know) the other four were at helm and in the cockpit watching lines. 12 rods out suits my boat well so I'll say 4 depending on the crew. I have this one buddy that used to fish with me and when he was tippin the suds one was too many...
  8. Gasoline prices depend on the market price. In the past decades the prices were stable and more related to the costs of retrieval and refinement. The instability shown on the markets today is a reflection of world activities and politics. This was something done by the oil corporations and Opec, not by the cost of retrieving and refining the product. Things have certainly changed in todays economy. I feel like anything that becomes as unstable as the fuel issue has, or for that matter any other situation or issue, soon there will be a change. Maybe for the good, maybe not. When I fish and drive I'm affected by the prices, when I don't I'm not. It's really up to me to participate in the scheme of things. The opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the management.
  9. So if I ran these off of a flasher the leader would be the same as a fly by average 3Xs the length of the flasher?
  10. But the lighting a Lunkers was better.. All I can see in your avatar is your nose and mouth... Thats why I say it doesn't look like you.
  11. Blue & red hat..... and you dont look like your avatar
  12. I will be adding the names to my boats this winter, The Slickcraft aka "Zero Balance" (this is what the wife says I do to the bank account over boating/fishing) and my jet boat "Twiggy" because she's a skinny lil skinny water boat. I don't think it's bad luck to change a boats name provided the proper cerimony is performed.
  13. My best trip out of St Joe last season was straight out from the pierheads to 200' and then back. I Had the family onboard that day and everyone caught at least one fish. some two. I brought in 9 that day although the best was only 14 lbs.
  14. I hear some state that they run cut bait the right way. What is the "right way" versus wrong way to run meat rigs?
  15. I use those too... I have I think 5 & 8Lb tension on my drops I was just wondering if you noticed a difference in the two or if you liked on better than the other. Also it only works in one direction... fingured that one out real quick.
  16. Blue dolphins & blueberry muffins were good for me. Also an 11" blue fishcatcher with the disco mamma tape and blue hootchie did some damage.
  17. What tension are you using on your weight releases?
