  1. It pushes Michigan's gas tax to the highest in the country and also allows more hikes in the future without even a debate. We need less government waste not give them more to waste.

I've lived long enough to see that giving the government more money never really fixed anything.

  2. Hey Joe

I have the Terrova with 80# thust on my 17' Prosport which is a fairly heavy glass center console and I love it. It works great. I don't remember which batteries I got but I bought them from Drummond Marine and they have done well. I can steer the boat easy for 6 hours while pushing with a kicker. Your welcome to come over and check it out or go out with me in the spring. (Its getting closer :-) ) I use this one for early and late fishing or when no one is available to help me with the Slickcraft.

  3. If anyone is looking at this post just let me add that I didn't want an older glass boat like this but was convinced by others that it was a good way to go. I now own a Slickcraft ss235 and love it and am very happy I went this route. This looks like a nice boat. They ride and fish great.

  4. Congratulations on the Master Angler. Next year we'll have to do some side by side trolling with different setups and see what happens. --course I know as soon as something starts popping I'll want to put more of it out :-)

  5. The center of the lake buoy has 17 footers right now and I think you can see the edge of them on Spyglass webcam. Its rough at the pier but it looks like much bigger ones on the horizon.

    Fish on!

  6. I'm interested in picking up a couple surf casting rods and looking for input on brand and where to buy them. Interested in used also. I'm thinking about 12' rods and good sized reels. Thanks for any advice. To be used to cast spawn bags.

  7. 3 for 4 today. Seem stuck on 3 lately. Lots of cold water close but no fish. Started at the pier heads but nothing going so headed out and only marked an occasional fish till 125. Then got 3 between there and 145 on chrome j, whole meat, meat strip. 150 copper highest and 70 down lowest. Was bracing for the 2-4's and got a beautiful day all day with gentle rollers to start and going almost dead calm. Water warmed around 120. Really nice day on the water.

  8. I was hit with a baseball in the eye years ago and those bright spreader lights are blinding to me as my eye is dilated open all the time. That would make it very difficult for me to see a small boat with its normal lights on. Please do not use the speaders with boats behind you even way behind as it blinds us to boats coming from the side besides making forward watching hard. A head lamp works just fine if you need to set lines or floor lighting that just luminates upward. And if I may add it would be nice for people to turn their headlights off at the dock as that also makes backing up very difficult. And yes most vehicles do have a way to turn them off.

  9. The downtown ramp is the closest but its steep, not sure of the condition of the Douglas ramp. I live about 20min away and you're welcome to leave your trailer by me. 138th and 43rd nearest cross street, 49419. (Hamilton area)

  10. Cut away everything but the meat, vein, pin bones, fat etc (hence the pieces) soak in club soda for 10 min, pat dry, dip in batter (this was shore lunch but I also use drakes, andy's, and there is an awesome cajan one made but outdoorsman or something like that) and fry at 370 in fresh olive oil--not too long!
