Would of been out there with ya Saturday on my old mans boat but we took out a few newbies and within a matter of a half hour we had 1 black eye and 2 sickies aboard and had to head for the next bridge in. I might be out there this Sunday on my boat maybe we can link up.
I did not realize salmon fishing was a contact sport.

Nice job on the catching Jason!

Lots of fish(including steelhead) in close now in 40-60FOW. The temp break was 48 degrees down 30'. Try trolling South out of the arms. Once you hit a fish, make loops through this area. I never go further than a couple miles South.

My wife took a couple of hours off work on Saturday, and also took Sunday off, so we could spend some time on the boat. We made it out Saturday for an evening trip, and drove the car to Grand Haven for the Coast Guard festival on Sunday. Wouldn't you know it, the Mackinac was not in port yet.

I got lines set around 7pm, and it was not long after and I was doing battle with a 12lb king. This fish came on a rigger set at 47' with an 11" double pearl hotchip Protroll flasher with a Siggs Rigs Blue & Pearl Crinkle trophy fly.
The next fish was a nice steelhead that came on a half core with a Stinger Prototype.

At 9pm, my wife was ready to head in.
So, I start pulling lines. After I get the second rod pulled, the half core with the prototype goes again. Its another steelhead.I get this fish boxed, and the 6 color on the other side of the boat goes. Its another steelhead on an NBK.
I get this fish boxed, and the 3 color on the other side of the boat with another Stinger Prototype goes. This is a 10lb king.

We fished 40-65FOW. The temp down 30' was 48 degrees. We ended the day 5 for 5 and headed in before the sun touched the water.
I would like to have stayed out for another hour! Next time!

Nice job and report Adam!

Nice haul Mike and crew!

Ouch on the burried treble hooks. I had a near miss on Saturday, and ended up with a 1" cut along one of my fingers where the hook narrowly missed.
-
Nice job Frank! Hopefully Chummer is feeling better now.

Not good at all. I wonder if it will kill any asian carp?

Thanks for the report. I may make it out on Sunday morning.

Welcome aboard Dan! Thanks for taking the time and doing an introduction. If you need anything, let out a yell.

sounds like you really hammered em on those dreamweaver lures:)
This event is the ONLY time you will see anything but a Stinger spoon on my boat! I had an exercism performed on my fishing gear and boat after the event.
I need to say "Thanks" to Glen and Greg for joining me in this event on the Pirate ship GLF. No one had to walk the plank for loosing fish. We lost the one fish because it wrapped up in the wire on a wire diver.
Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!

I had a snubber come apart this year, and could not find my replacement on the boat. So....I hooked the leader directly to the diver. The next hit on the diver was the last one. The wire broke just above the diver. Minus one diver, one flasher, and one fly.
It may have been a bad spot in the wire above the diver. My divers will always have a snubber from now on.
