  1. Another slow, uneventful weekend! Started Saturday morning out of Callahan Rd and went out to the northside of the reef and didn't catch anything. Saw a couple walleye and a nice school of perch came and went but nothing biting. From there we drove over to Vandy Park and sat down in about 4 FOW and saw some really nice perch but didn't get anything to bite. Talked to some guys on the way back in that were out off Thomas Rd in the slot and they said the walleye are out there but not hungry. Sunday went to the mouth of the river, saw nothing, caught nothing. Talked to a group of guys that went out to the man made island at day break and caught one small perch and that was it. Talked to another guy that was fishing down at the mouth of the Kawkalin River and did nothing. If anyone has any reports off Lexington or Pt. Sanilac in the harbors I would love to get one. I will either head out that way or go to Lake St. Claire and fish that next weekend. I'm about ready to give up on the bay. As a side note, talked to another buddy of mine that fished on the Saginaw River by the Z bridge and said he helped fish two guys out of the river. He said the ice down that way was like swiss cheese. If anyone has a more promising report please pass it along.
  2. I have some spawn bags left from my trip to Tawas Bay fishing for Brownies. I will throw a couple in the water this weekend and update my report next week.
  3. I use the AquaView XL, I've had it for about three years and love it. I have thought about upgrading to a color monitor but don't know how advantegeous it would be in turbid water or in dark conditions. If anyone has any thoughts I would like to know what you think.
  4. Fished the Bay off Vandy Park. Walked out about a mile and sat down in 4 FOW. Fished in the afternoon and till about an hour after dark both days. Saturday there were a lot of small perch in there and they kept getting spooked by either bass or pike that were swimming with them. Ended up just catching 2 perch and that was it. Sunday went out in the same area and maybe saw 15 perch on the camera all day. Did see one really big walleye swim by but he wasn't a taker either. The fished moved somewhere, just not sure where they went. Talked to people on shore both Saturday and Sunday and no one did worth a darn. One group of five guys fished all day and caught one perch. Between myself and the other two guys with me we tried about everything. Sunday we even set tipups for pike. Another buddy of mine went out of Qsee and sat in about 7 FOW right outside of the channel and claims to have seen salmon swim by his camera. Don't have proof of that, just what I was told.
  5. Heading to Grand Haven on Saturday and was hoping to get a few good spots to fish. Walleye, perch, steelhead, browns. . . doesn't matter. Outfitted for just about everything. Could I get some leads on where to go and what people are fishing for. Thanks in advance.
  6. Never made it out this weekend, Saturday morning I had a buddy call me and told me two guys went in on the West side of the bay (only 2 FOW). I didn't even try. With all the cold weather this week I hope the quanicasee river is frozen over. If so I am going to start there for some walleye. Always done well early in the year there.
  7. I usually fish the east side, going out of Quanicasee or Thomas Rd. I haven't heard any reports on ice on that side. I was perch fishing three weeks ago in 7 fow off Quanicasee and did pretty good. I plan on posting a report early next week, if you get out will you also post a report. I would rather go out on the east side.
  8. Wanting to head up to Pinconing or Linwood this weekend. Hear there is about 4 inches of ice. Is anyone catching any keepers?
  9. I would like to be involved as well. Update me with the weekend and more details. I can contact three of other buddies of mine with boats and see if they are interested as well.
  10. I am heading to the Crystal Lake, IL area to visit the inlaws and was told if there were rivers to fish either Salmon or Steelhead I was free to go. Not only do I want to fish, but I don't have to listen to my sister-in-law nag on her husband all weekend (that's why he needs to learn how to fish). If someone could help me out I would be greatful. Thanks
  11. I am making a trip over to Ludington this weekend and was hoping to get a fishing report. I haven't been out of Ludington in about 10 years so if someone can help me with location, how deep to fish and lure choice that would be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help.
  12. Spent the weekend in Harbor Beach and the fish didn't cooperate. Saturday my dad and I fished 30-45 FOW and tried everything we had in the boat and didn't catch a single fish. The fist were stacked in there from 10 foot down to the bottom. Talked to three guys at the dock Saturday and no one heard of anyone catching fish. Sunday was more of the same. Ventured out to 85-100 FOW and marked a lot of fish 60 foot down to the bottom and had one rip on a dipsy (silver screwball) but that only lasted about 10 seconds and gone. All weekend we heard on one person catch a steelhead and that was it. If you didn't make it out this past weekend you didn't miss anything.
  13. I go to Tippy Dam (Cadillac, Mi) almost every fall for the Salmon run and use one of our 6 ft trolling rods with 30# braid (cast from shore). I use heavy tackle because of snags in the river, especially if the river is low. I throw small spoons at them most of the time. My hottest color is gold and red, have about 10 of them with me at all times. Little Cleos are what I usually use but moonshine makes a couple superglow spoons that I use at night and have worked as well.
  14. I need some help, can someone tell me exactly what a "wire diver" is. From videos on line people who bring up fish are running dipsy's but not sure exactly what a wire diver is.
  15. I haven't been out of Harbor Beach in a few weeks, has anyone been able to get out for either Salmon or Steelhead in the past few weeks? If so, where are you finding the fish. We are planning on heading back to HB this weekend and wanted to get an up to date fishing report.
  16. I was in Oscoda over the holiday weekend and marked tons of fish. Caught a couple steelhead in 50 FOW, 20 down and 100 back of the riggers. Caught both of the fish on a silver screwball. Had two other rips on regular size pro kings.
