  1. yep thats it skeeter bill told me they just opened it
  2. I heard it was closed , so I launched in Caseville and made a milk run of three stops and never got bit till I got to Port Austin
  3. I hear the outer bay is a struggle as well, I went to port austin today and got a few nicer fish i couldnt believe the water temps were 77.9 degrees. real funny bite today though i lost way more fish then i care to admit.
  4. Thanks for the response adam and twill to me the water seems cleaner or clearer and I have had to change what i do to consistantly be able to catch the fish. such as run more natural colored baits or more white colored baits and run longer leads ie leadcore and spoons. I did notice in the spring while watching a few different schools of bait up shallow that they had alot white on them. I can't think of a reason those fish would be in Alpena other then food. didn't mean to hijack this thread maybe we should start a new one Tony
  5. adam do you think the clear water has anything to do with it ?
  6. Had a great day with my dad. we kept 9 fish, biggest was 23 inches. running reef runners on one side and crawlers on the other. speed was 1.2 to 1.3 fishing 12 to 15 FOW, east of spark plug almost straight out from Q.C 25 to 50 back with the reefs and 13 to 20 back with crawlers. lost a couple nice ones at the back of the boat. seemed like the bigger fish liked the reef runners better with ghost being the best color.
  7. A warm welcome aboard Tony.
