  1. Personaly I look at it this way. The charter guys I know that are getting 20-30 fish per trip when I am getting 10-20 a trip are telling me it is getting on fish and getting your spread to look right underwater that is the big deal. I believe the better you get at the fundamentals of a good spread and getting on active fish have a HUGE part to your success. I am sure power pro has it's day but until I am good enough to see the difference in a day in and day out situation I will stick with wire for now. There is so much more for me to learn......

  2. Get more experiance. Like was said before, goto school and get a good job. I don't know 1 charter guy in my home port that doesn't have a "normal" job because being a charter captain doesn't make you rich. If you start running trips and for any numbers of reasons you don't fill the cooler you are going to hear knocks on you about your age. Clients, like all of us, are driven by the perception of a good time. I wish you the best and hope you turn your love into a great business.

  3. I just don't find any use for 32#, I run all 45# in different segments and find it easy to work with. Why run longer lengths if you don't have to, I find mysself in some tight areas and want to run copper but need it as short as possible. My 100,150,200,250,300'ers work well.

  4. True UV topcoat has a little bit of small blue flake, can't miss it. Be careful, just because it looks floresent under a UV light does not make it UV. My sister and brother in law are chemical engineers and use testing equipment for UV reflectiveness in the medical engineering field, interesting when you test other peoples lures to see what the data is. Some good, some not so good.

  5. Didn't want to high jack the other thread but I am thinking of starting up a meat program. For informational purposes I want to know to what extent you use meat and what kind. Do you use whole, strips, brads stuffed with "X", herring, sardines, anchovies, tuna, herring oil, sadine oil, sushi fly's. Thanks, can't wait to see this info. Chris

  6. I love the smaller 7' rods for the riggers (M TDR), got about 10. 8' and 10' for the divers and Okumas 8'6" copper rods are standard on my ride. My favorite rods for wire are my 7' roller talora's, they handle my torpedo's/divers/# lbs down the shoot perfectly.

  7. "because it's my boat, and when i say to do something on my boat, i expect that it's done and done now. I'm not hard to get along with if you understand that this boat is not a democracy. If not, you can always go back to flipping cleos off the pier and let me know how that works for you."
now that is a quote i can fall in love with!!!
  8. I was going to go lights but then a buddy of mine came on board and put some of that highly reflective D.O.T tape on the board.(the white stuff) I kid you not, if you look to the side with a hat light or get a small set of LED spreader lights and point them to the side they light up like a beacon. I taped all 7 sets and love them, try it you may like it.
