  1. Figured it would be real busy in the morning so we did an afternoon trip. We started at pier and trolled south to the retaining wall, worked that area for a slow pic and got 9 and it died. After about an hour with no hits, we pulled lines and ran 7 miles south and set back up. Didn't take long and we found them and really lit up the rods. Hit 15 and got 11 more in 45 minutes to end up with 20. The same lures were best in both spots, red and blk thin fins on boards, small orange dodger and purple coho fly on a diver out 45, the other diver has a DW SS steelie stomper out 40 to 50ft. The riggers had a j-11 orange and gold rapala on one and a anti freeze DW on the other 4 ft off the bottom. We fished 20-35 ft of water in both spots. Good luck!

  2. Another good thing about this is that it also get you in state owned boat launches that required a boat launch sticker like Bolles Harbor or St Joe.

In the past, I always bought a boat launch sticker for my truck-$24

A park sticker for my truck -$24 and a sticker for my wifes vehicle, another $24.

They are needed throughout the Waterloo area where we live and we go the Ludington state park all the time.

So we used to pay $72 annually, now we pay $20. What a good deal for a change.

Another thing that is coming i heard through the grapevine in the next couple years. All the walk ins that don't pay to use the park and don't buy the passport are going to charged a daily access fee.

Maybe, maybe not??? What I'm expecting is that won't be manning the gates at many places anymore. If you don't buy it, you'll get in anyways because they won't be paying a worker to sit at the toll booth. With everyone buying these now, there won't be many left to pay entrance fees so why put a worker there when they won't be collecting much money. They might man big parks like Ludington but I doubt they'll man Bolles Harbor or the St Joe DNR launch. This is speculation on my part, we'll have to see what happens.

The hot fishing continues, we caught 26 and kept our 20. After we caught our limit and let the 21st one go from a double, we started to pull rods and hit 5 more and released them as we cleared the deck. It was over with quick. It was a nice way to start to my 2011 boat season.

Orange gold j-9 rap's on all 3 riggers down 18-22ft. They were the best. Small dodgers and orange/red coho flies on divers out 40 and 50ft and thin fins on boards.

  4. Had another good weekend, I walked off the rock Sat with 2 coho, 2 whitefish and a chrome blue 9 lb steelie. 4 of us fished today and we walked off with 21. The catch was 12 coho's and 9 whitefish. I got 6 of them. :D Steelie skein was the hot bait today on the river side of the pier.
