  1. Hi fellow anglers,

I've already outed myself as being from the other side of the Lake Michigan pond, the IL / WI bourder. I've spent a little time over on the East side and I liked it! Advice on locations to visit and best times to would be great. Fishing is my biggest intrest, well just short of keeping the rest of "the crew" happy.

So, info on fun places to harbor when the fishing is good and there are interesting things or events happening. What would you be targeting and how...wait I feel a cold stare on my back!!! I mean the most fun filled family adventure were I could probably catch a fish in my limited free time:jester:

  2. Polar Bear,

I'm from the otherside of the pond. What to get across and try some of the great spots you have over there. I wish I had some helpfull info for you and well maybe it is. Anytime I hear someone talk about 50 hits and 15 - 20 boated, my mind just sceams "tighten your releases and sharpen your hooks". No offense intended!

    Best of luck this year,

    Rod

  3. Hi everyone,

I've always mixed things up and dialed the spread into what's bitting. I've often had guests on board who wanted to catch a steely, or a big king, or a fat mid-summer CoHo, or a slab of a lake trout. What kind of pre-trip planing and on water techniques can be used to target one vrs another? I know the prefered temp ranges, some baits that seem to be favored by one more than the rest, but how to pick the best place to start, speeds to run, best presentations for each???? Sorry it's such a broad subject, but it's my cabin fever thought for now.

Thanks and tight lines to all,

    Rod

  4. I have an old Fishhawk. Happy with it, but thinking about buying the new probe. The battery issue is a pain with the old probe. The new cannon seems good. I like the depth feature, but I'm not a coated cable fan. Combining Cannon link - downrigger - speed, temp, depth combo with a hummigbird unit I have is tempting. How well does it work together and how helpfull is it?

    Thanks,

    Rod
