  1. Ciao, We were 1 for 3 out of GH last night. Ran six rods - 2 coppers (300ft & 200ft, diver with spoon, diver with fly, two riggers). Riggers had fixed sliders. Two shakers on riggers but they were off quickly. Picking up lines at 9:10 on an east troll about 80ft and hit and landed a 10# king on the fixed slider (orange crush) set at 65ft. Freezer's lot very full....yet. Regards.
  2. For your cannon speed n temp do you use coated cable? I tried stainless braid with a copper core but not much luck. the coated cable just doesn't last very long (half of a season).

    thanks

  3. We went out of GH yesterday afternoon thinking we had a long evening of fishing. Had lines set by 5pm but were chased off a little after 6pm due to a quick moving thunderstorm. For the one hour we went three for three - all coho in the 8 - 10# range. Fished came in 90 to 105 FOW. Here's what worked: Dipsey set on 3, 135 feet back with a 11" pearl paddle and a blue pearl fly Rigger down sixty feet, hit a fixed slider with Bloody Nose 300ft copper with a magnum Blue Dolphin - last rod out and the fish hit just as we started to reel it in. Look forward to getting back out today.
  4. Fished yesterday out of GH. Set lines just before 10am in 80 FOW, west troll and didn't get all lines in before a dipsey went. Landed about a 12# on a blue/pearl fly with a 11" white pearl paddle. Worked the 80 to 100FOW straight out from GH. East troll both 300ft copper went (MJ & bloody nose - old and bent up but it works) - landed both. Started to pick up lines just before noon and a rigger with a magnum green dolphin hit in 80 FOW - east troll - wrapped up a dipsey line but we finally landed it - 20 pounder. That was a fun two hours of fishing!
  5. Thanks for the replies. Still searching. Unfortunately, I'm trying not to change my thru hull transducer and the x135 (or others shown on the link provided) is not compatible with the existing transducer. Only a direct replacement (x48) or upgraded x75 or x85 will work - as far as I know. Thanks again, John
  6. I am looking for a Lowrance x65, x75 or x85 working fishfinder. Mine cuts out after about an hour or two on the water and needs about a half hour to reset. I have a through hull transducer so, I'm hoping to find a unit that is compatible with my existing transducer. Thanks, John 'Traveler' out of Spring Lake
  7. Thanks All for the great info. I have it set up on bare cable but only get consistant readings down to about 50 ft. I'll change to coated cable - with the solid connection Nailer recommends and the liquid tape idea from Medic. Wish I new about Cannon discounting this before paying full retail earlier in the Spring.
  8. can anyone tell me how to connect the cannon speed and temp sensor to the coated cable and the downrigger ball? thanks, John
