  1. The white bass fishing is excellent. Anglers are hitting with every cast. The best areas are from the Foote Bridge to the Telegraph Bridge. Minnows have worked the best. Crappie are being caught in the backwaters on minnows.
  2. Walleye fishing continues to improve. Good catches are being taken near the mouth of the Trenton Channel in 12 to 15 feet of water. Another good area is in Brest Bay in 16 to 19 feet of water, or straight out of Bolles Harbor in 13 to 16 feet of water. Plenty of white bass have been caught.
  3. Boat anglers have caught good numbers of chinook salmon, weather permitting. Good lake trout fishing was also reported. Most are trolling about 50 feet down in waters from 100 to 150 feet deep with spoons in various colors.
  4. Had good catches of chinook and lake trout when trolling 50 to 70 feet down in waters 100 to 150 feet deep with spoons or plugs. Weather has been a factor, as not many boats have been able to get out.
  5. Chinook are hitting on alewife off both the North and South Piers. The action is not fast and furious, but some fish have been caught. Boat anglers have caught chinook in waters anywhere from 30 to over 200 feet deep using blue and green spoons.
  6. Yellow perch have been caught on minnows in 60 feet of water. Chinook salmon and brown trout have been caught by pier anglers using alewife or small Cleo?s. Boat anglers are trolling with body baits.
  7. In the East Bay, fair whitefish action was reported in 130 feet of water off Deepwater Point. Swedish pimples or jigs tipped with minnows worked best. Lake trout have also been caught when jigging spoons in 110 to 150 feet of water off Deepwater Point and Willow Point. In the West Bay, whitefish were caught off Bingham Road. Lake trout were caught when trolling spoons and cowbells in 30 to 50 feet of water near the Brush Grounds.
  8. Pier anglers have caught chinook and brown trout when using the alewife that have started to show up around the piers. Boat anglers catching chinook in 180 feet of water are also marking good numbers of alewife. Brown trout were caught on spoons and plugs when trolling in the harbor.
  9. Pier fishing has been slow, but the alewife are starting to show up. Those trolling have caught chinook and steelhead near the Saddle, and straight out from the piers in 140 to 175 feet of water. Try blues or greens.
  10. Reported slow fishing, but there are bait fish in the harbor. Chinook and brown trout have been caught just outside the harbor. Lake trout have been caught along the shelf. Pier anglers have also been able to catch a few chinook and brown trout now that the bait fish are in the harbor.
  11. A few anglers out trolling in deeper waters were lucky enough to catch chinook salmon and a couple steelhead. Those fish were taken in 100 feet of water or deeper. Boat and pier anglers have started to catch some nice fish.
  12. A few large chinook salmon were caught recently, but most boats were only bringing in a total of one fish. Splake fishing has been fair while trolling or fishing from shore near the mouth of the Anna River. The better lake trout fishing has been in shallow waters.
  13. Poor weather conditions have kept most boats off the lake. A few bigger boats did mange to get out and catch a few chinook, coho, brown trout and lake trout when trolling in 20 to 60 feet of water. The average chinook salmon was 3 to 12 pounds. Pier and shore fishing remain slow.
  14. Panfish are starting to come alive. Anglers will find the bigger bluegills near the drop-offs. Northern pike have been caught along the east shore just north of the canal. Anglers reported seeing bass on the beds, but the bite has been slow. Any and all bass caught must be released immediately.
  15. The recent front did slow fishing a bit, but the panfish are finally starting to heat up. Crappies are starting to bite on the east end of the lake off the fishing pier. Try jigs with minnows near dusk. Some are using a minnow under a bobber during the day while fishing from the pier south to the Library. Boat anglers should look for bluegills near the drop-offs. Northern pike are hitting bright colored plugs off Kenwood Park. Anglers are reminded that the early bass season is catch and release only, no kill.
  16. Lake trout have been caught in 100 feet of water on the northeast side of Treasure Island. Downriggers with cowbells and live grey minnows, or watermelon spoons have worked best. Yellow perch fishing has been slow.
  17. Bluegills are starting to show up along the weed beds. Warmer water in the canals have pushed the crappie back out into the main part of the lake, and some are now starting to spawn. A few walleye have been caught when night fishing. Good numbers of smaller northern pike have been caught.
  18. A few walleye have been caught near Little Charity Island.
  19. Pier fishing has been slow with only a few walleye and northern pike caught. The yellow perch are running small. Trolling was not much better. Anglers did manage to catch a few walleye or chinook salmon off Tawas Point.
  20. Anglers are now targeting lake trout. While catch rates have been slow, a couple nice fish averaging 4 to 8 pounds were taken recently when trolling just off the end of North Point. Those targeting walleye reported a few hits, but the catch rate was still slow.
  21. Boats are trolling out near Middle Island for lake trout. Those trolling shallow waters in the bay are targeting brown trout.
  22. Before the rain, anglers were catching walleye in 5 feet of water between Knight Road and Finn Road. A few channel catfish were taken out of the Hot Ponds. Once the weather clears, try fishing in 8 to 10 feet of water near the Callahan Reef. Shore anglers have caught pike out of Sunset Bay Marina.
  23. Salmon have been caught east of the harbor, 40 to 60 feet down in waters 70 to 90 feet of water. Many are using magnum spoons along with dodgers and squid. Lake trout can be found south of the harbor in 70 to 90 feet of water. Try using cut bait rigs and fishing near the bottom. Brown trout have moved in closer, so try fishing small spoons in 30 to 40 feet of water. Steelhead are hitting on color lines and small spoons. Yellow perch fishing has been slow, with a few fish taken near the Lighthouse and the Cemetery. Some large walleye were caught when casting body baits off the north wall.
  24. Salmon and trout appear to be scattered in waters 20 to 90 feet deep. Fish have been caught on planer boards with body baits and downriggers with spoons or cut bait. Most are catching lake trout, followed by some chinook, coho and steelhead. Not much is happening off the piers.
  25. Good walleye fishing continues, even with the higher water levels. Muddy waters may slow things a bit, but the river should clear up by next week unless we get additional rainfall. Those fishing the Lower Trenton Channel reported good catches using jigs with crawlers or minnows. Stinger hooks continue to catch more fish.
