Fishing is a little off for this time of year, unlike holland. We are taking fish from 70ft-180ft out front to the number change. Spoons have been taking most of the hits, regular size stingers in UV watermelon, camel dolphin, UV jager bomb, orange killer and mixed veggie. Spoons bites have been high in the water 3-8 colors of lead and 50-80 high divers and 35-45 riggers. We are also are taking some fish down deep, rigger down 140-160 with pearl fishscale with hypnotist has been the most consistent.

So I set high goals....

Matt...he wants to...but he's trying to sell the boat and business. He told me it's hard to sell a boat without a customer base if he just shuts it down and walks away. So he'll be out there again the way it sounds as of our conversation last weekend.... Beautiful Rampage 33 he owns Matt...there's your 1st charter boat for you .
Not till i am 50 with 8 million in the bank, then I might considered buying a big boat, untill i kinda like run other peoples, less head aches!!!

I thought Denny was getting out chartering?

A lot of captain have been talking about the same thing, a very well known captain went out to 350ft of water in Manistee and seen a pile of fish sitting right on bottom. We are back to a normal year, everyone wants every year to be like last year, it was not the norm though.

I guess a blind squirrel can find a nut now and then. Nice job

Seacat--I've had poor success with the dive bombers on my copper lines. Where are you attaching them? on the leader or on the copper? how far from the lure?
The best results is to attach them have way part of the copper. 300 copper put it on a 150ft on the copper; use your best judgement. For deeper results, run closer to the bait, for shallower run father from the bait. One thing that people often want to do is, try and float a line with a dive bomb over a line with out. It will tangle very easy. If you pick up the new Stinger Catalog, it has very question you may have pertaining to the Dive Bombs.
Not trying to intrude on the post FYI

I thought there was a 31 blackfin that fished St.Joe that that had like a 40Hp kicker on the back of it.

You may want to give the price range of what your looking at to give a more specific group of electronics.

Did you use a brush with the purple power or just spray on and wipe off
Wet it, rough scrub, put it on all over, wait a couple minutes then scrub good then wash.
-
The deck brush seemed to work well, the boat that I use to work for had Durabak product on the deck. It did collect dirt and blood very easy, the best product that he found was Purple Power, cheap and its not a marine product so the mark up on it was not so high but worked very well! Mean Green worked well to

I did watch a 20ft glass boat launch sunday, I did not get a full report of how deep it is at GH, I will be be fishing the small boat this weekend hopefully and check.

Heard it was very slow out there on the pier also, only 3 fish caught. We were breaking in the motor on the DANEL and found 39.4 degree water outside the mudd to be the warmest.

VMC spark point #1 #2 #3 on everything, scary sharp.

If he does not want to go that far, let me know and I can do some calling around up there to see where they had their surveying done by.

Call mark from Reel Action, that's only a hour away, give him a call as stated above.

How is the PVC in the summer? Seems like it would get hot.
Just had a conversation with my boss who has a pair of Grunden Hercules, he said best pair of rain gear ever. He said he wears them all year long, very durable. Time to shop around and see if i can get them for a good price.
-
Definitely recommend the Grundens or Helly Hansen rubbers over any Gore-Tex type suit. I have a Helly Hansen suit...keeps me warm and dry and they've held up to many weeks of halibut/cod fishing trips in Alaska.
Do you know what suit it was? I see that they make different models for helly. I dont like the cloth type suites, i know guys that have used them for mid summer and they got really hot and the bibs were nasty.
-
if your worried about them collecting smell dont fart in them:thumb:
Every problem is solved now, thanks Don.

I have a pair of Ice armor, currently have a pair of frog togs as rain gear. I was wondering what everyone else uses. I am leading at a pair of Grundens, there made for commercial fishing or Helly Hansen. I dont mind the the Togs but you get what ya pay for with 50$ bibs and they collect the smell.

Love my costa del mars rincons, going on the 3rd season"knocking on wood". No problems at all, from the end of the season, you will see how good they are when it's all still white where your lenses are.
Grand Haven 9-11
in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
Posted
What a week a difference makes for the fishing in Grand Haven, in a good way. There is some very nice kings around, up to 22lbs along with some great numbers of cohos and trout in 130ft-240ft . The coho fishing has been the top 60. Flat lines to 200ft coppers, 40-60 out on divers and 25-55 down on the riggers. The hot spoons have been all regular stingers in mixed veggie, blue veggie, UV veggie, jaw breaker, double orange crush, jager bomb, UV jager bomb, orange killer, freaking veggies and freaking blue veggies. The lake trout and kings have been coming deep, 180-275 on low divers and 85-100 on the rigger with white crush flasher and hypnotist meat rig and pearl fishscale with oceana has been good on riggers and divers down deep for kings.
Great trip on Danels two charter boats
Danels 2nd boat with some big kings...and me
