  1. Went 5 for 8 in a couple hours Friday night. NBK was the hottest taking 3 kings off the riggers set at 82 down. 100, 127, and 115 FOW. Took a nice steelhead off a rigger at 42 feet down with a spoon that I can never remember the name of. Had another screamer on that set up that came unbuttoned. Blue bubble fly and flasher went 1 for 3, 150 back set on 2.

All in all a great night.

Pulled lines around 9:20 because of an early trip Saturday morning with 'Eliott', which was also a gas.

  2. Got out last night for the first time this year. What a beautiful night to be out on the lake. We went 1 for 3 but at least we got the smell out of the boat.

Lost one on a full core, 190 fow, on a jawbreaker.

Caught about an 8lb king on the same rig in 180 fow. :)

Lost one on a pooh bear on the slider, rigger set at 40 in 118 fow.

Not the best day fishing but a great night on the water.

  3. Fished for perch in White Lake Saturday filling a 2 man limit. Fished the west end near the channel in 50 feet of water. Probably caught 400 to 500 to get our limit but had non stop action. Everything that we kept was 8 - 10 inches with a couple bigger here and there. Mixed bag of yellows and whites. Caught them on minnows and cut bait.

After limiting out we went up the river for steelhead with no results. The reports from the other fishermen up the river were similar.

All in all a great day on the water.

  4. Fished lake Michigan, Monday from noon til 5. Went 7 for 10, all 6 to 8lb steelhead. 25' of water was our best. Riggers down 14', back 150'. Watermelon spoons were the number one taker with one on an orange and silver and one on a blue and silver with orange ladder back. Took two on black and silver stick baits, 150' back on the sides. Not fast and furious but all in all a great last trip out before rifle season.

  5. Set lines at 5:15 a.m. in 50 FOW and didn't get a bump until the sun came up. Running 4 riggers and 2 dipseys. Started getting exciting when we hit the 110 FOW.

small king on dipsey set at 3, 130 back. Black hootchie mama with a purple no seeum fly

another small king on a slider with rigger set at 64' stinger NBK.

nice laker on a rigger set at 72', light green hootchie mama with a light blue and white fly, can't remember the name.

beautiful steelhead on a white hootchie mama with a home made NBK fly.

Finished the day 4/7. All of our fish were caught in 110 FOW. When it slowed a little we went out to 170 FOW. Marked a lot of fish in 140 FOW, 100 down but no takers. Probably should have stayed in the 110 - 120 area.

All in all a great day on the lake and a beautiful moonset and sunrise.
