  1. This was our first year doing this League and as everyone else said, we had a great time. Really like the laid back format, met a couple new guys and got to know a few a bit better.

Thanks to the sponsers, Jon and any of the other guys that helped out - we will be back next year:thumb:

  2. I would be careful using Softscrub all the time. I was using it and it does get the floor nice and clean, but after a while the floor seemed to get dirty faster. I did a fair amount of on-line research and read various places that the abrasives in the Soft Scrub can etch the gell coat allowing dirt to collect in the micro scratches faster.

I now use Star Bright Deck cleaner with a stiff deck brush - wet the deck down, pour it on, scrub it in, let it sit for 3-5 minutes, one more scrub and rinse off. The key is to let is sit after scrubbed the initial time. I do use Softscrub once and a while for bad stains - leaves in the fall, helicopters in the spring, etc... and used the kind with bleach in it. I have read about the Purple Power and heard a lot of good reviews, but have not tired it.

I use the Woodys Wax as well and like it. I cannot say it works quite as well as some of the reviews I have read by others, but it definately helps.

Note - When you by a deck brush, do not get one that screws in like the old brooms - it will constantly be turning on you. Make sure the brush is secured to the handle.

  3. We did very well on the UV Moonshines last year and now have a number of them - cannot remember which was the hottest, but Hot Lips, Mongolion Beef, Blue Flounder Pounder and Crabface were all in the mix.

Green Flounder Pounder standard was a great lure for us 2 summers ago, but I cannot say it did as well last year.

  4. Thanks for the info guys.:) I have a couple of UV flashlights that we use to glow up everything on the boat, just never looked to see if the flies actually looked different while I was glowing em up. Usually the Golw ones are easy to identify, it's probably more to tell the difference between UV flies and standard (no glow - no UV). I will take a closer look at them tonight with a light.

  5. I have a terrible memory especialy when it comes to flies for some reason. Wondering if there is an easy way to tell the difference between glow and UV. Is there a way on the boat in various light conditions (early morning - mid day) to pick one out vs. the other?

    Thanks,

    Shane

  6. I have a 1983 25 foot Pursuit that I bought 3 years ago and so far have loved it. After about 30 e-mails with a pile of pics I drove from Holland to Green Bay to look at it and ended up bringing it home! Made it there and back in one day with a short sea trial.

The only thing I did not know much about when I bought it was outdrives. Mine has an OMC Stringer Outdrive (white), which is not known to be the best thing ever designed. I have had to replace a few items on the ouddrive and have one more to work on this year. They do not all have these outdrives and I don't think it would have changed my mind on this boat, but it is something to account for when you evaluate.

I am by no means an expert, but did look at a lot of them before I found mine and know a few guys around here with them. If you have any questions let me know.

  7. There was a thread lately about this in Wisconson and I am curious about something similar in Michigan. Are there any good places where you can set up in a Marina and pitch a tent next to, or near the boat? My family loves to camp, but since we have gotten a little larger boat a few years back, we have not done as much as inland lakes are typically difficult to access with a 25 ft boat.

Ideal would be to have access to the big lake from a slip and be able to have a tent within walking distance where we can have fires and somewhat of a normal camping experiance. The boat is big enough for us to sleep on, but for anything more than 1-2 days would be a bit much.

    Thanks for any advice!

  8. Tony,

If you have an open trip and Jason is in - I may want to tag along if there is room:thumb:. Jason fishes on my boat when he is not on his own and I would love to learn a little about Eye fishing as I'm sure it could be usefull around here at times.

I cannot remember the exact details, but this one was the lone fish on a Thursday tourney night and they would not let me weigh it:lol: - somewhere around 100 FOW south of Holland.
