  1. Very nice job last night PUG!
  2. Got out around 6:30 PM in the blistering heat and started dropping lines at about 115 FOW. We were maybe halfway through setting lines, and had our 150 copper start flying towards the middle with a Bloody Nose spoon but unfortunately, we missed that one. got the rest of the lines in and started on a south troll, marking plenty of fish in that 115–125 FOW range. Around 7:30 PM, our port side diver out 135 on a 3 setting went, and we landed a solid 10 lb king on a Kryptonite Spin Doctor with a 24" lead to a Green Crinkle fly. While dealing with that fish at the net, our 250 copper on the starboard side started clicking, Green Lightning J Plug was the bait, and after a very intense fight (wrapped around the rigger cable and causing all sorts of chaos), we boxed a thick 12 lb king. From about 8:00 PM on, we could NOT keep that Kryptonite/Green Crinkle combo in the water. That diver fired 4–5 times over the next 90 minutes and was hands down our hottest setup. All bites were coming between 120–125 FOW leading into sunset. Right at dusk, our deep rigger 75 down with a Mag Green Jeans spoon took one of the softest bites I’ve seen all year, but it turned into our biggest fish of the night, a nice 15 lb king. 9:30, we turned for a north troll and picked at a few more fish, including one on the 350 copper with a Mag Ratchet Jaw spoon and another on the 10-color with a Jager Bomb spoon. We fished until a little after 10:00 and pulled lines just after dark. Overall, it was hot, flies were nasty, but fishing was solid and the lake was glass. Ended the night 8/13 or so, with some good action before dark... Just an overall steady night with calm seas. What worked… Kryptonite Spin/Green Crinkle Fly (Diver 135’ on 3) – 3 Kings Green Lightning J Plug (250 Copper) – 1 King Mag Green Jeans Spoon (Rigger 75’ main) – 1 King Mag Ratchet Jaw Spoon (350 Copper) – 1 King Jager Bomb Spoon (10 Color) – 1 King Green Dolphin Spin Doctor/Yellow-Green Fly (Diver 160’ on 3) – 1 King IMG_6527.mov 6956AA1F-BCD7-44B4-AAAD-CD11A59F624F.mp4
  3. Got a late start around 8:00 PM and dropped lines in about 108 FOW. There were a ton of boats packed in the vicinity, so after about 20 minutes with no action, we slid out into some deeper water to get some breathing room.First fish of the night surprisingly took a while to hit but it absoutely smoked the 250 copper, just screaming drag, and eventually it ended up breaking off a Green Splatterback J-Plug right at the copper-leader connection. Thankfully, we got some redemption later on that same bait. Once we got into 125-130 FOW, things started going crazy. Kevin’s Girlfriend meat rig landed a solid 10–12 lb king, and not long after that we stuck our biggest fish of the night on the 250 with a new Green Splatterback J-Plug, a tank 23 lb king that did what kings often do and took us into the rigger and other shenanigans when it got close… Kryptonite spin doctor and fly took a 6-7 lb king also, on a diver out 140. As it got darker, we had another flurry, and riggers down deep (thanks 2MD for the tips tonight) were just lights out once it turned dark. Mag Green Jeans, and Mag Happee Meal were hot, and again, a Glow Green J Plug on the deeper rigger took another big king. Really cool to see the J-Plug bite get goin… I believe our meat rig on the deeper rigger out 160-170 took another fish as well around sunset. Things just clicked in that 130 FOW though once the sun was down. We fished until about 10:30 before pulling lines. Ended the night I believe 8/9. Did NOT end up fishing as well as 2MD did (WOW), but the 23 lber was a real nice surprise, and we will be back at it again bright and early! What worked… Green Splatterback J-Plug (Rigger 80’/250 Copper) – 2/3 Kings Kryptonite Spin/Fly (Diver 140’) – 1/1 King Mag Green Jeans Spoon (Rigger) – 1/1 King Happee Meal Spoon (Rigger) – 1/1 King Meat Rig (Kevin’s Girlfriend)(Diver 160’) – 2/2 King Blue Goby (200 Copper) - 1/1 King
  4. Thanks to Pug as well, the glue that holds us all together
  5. Bear with me guys, my first report, relatively new to the addiction Heard the fishing was good in tight yesterday from a reliable source after the lake flip, so we left the dock at about 6:30 PM hoping for some action in close. Started setting lines at about 70 FOW, and started a north troll… For about an hour and a half, nothing was happening for us, but everyone else seemed to be having very good action in that 120–150 FOW. Around 8:15, things changed for us… We switched to a north troll, and increased our speed just a hair also. We picked up a nice 10–12 lb king on a high diver/Green Crinkle Fly down about 45–50 feet. For the next hour though, as it got dark, it was lights out… Just me and one other guy had 4 fish on at once, pure chaos . Lost about an 18–20 lber in the flurry right at the boat trying to leader the king in (another diver bite with Green Crinkle), but landed the other three thankfully. One of the three we landed in that frenzy ended up being about a 20 lber, which came on the Wonder Bread spoon and pulled the board pretty far under, which is always fun… Action continued to be steady until about 10:15, then we decided to call it quits and head in. Think we ended the night 6/9, was a beautiful night on the water! We hit the fish in around 85-95 FOW for the most part, but seemed like they were spread out around a variety of depths in general. Special shout out to 2MD (and sons), they’ve really put time in showing me the ropes and getting me to where I’m at today! Bloody Nose on Rigger (45’) – 2 Kings Green Crinkle Fly (Diver 45-50’) – 2 Kings Fireball (7 Color) – 1 King Wonderbread Spoon - 1 King
