3 for 4. Fished out of Port Sheldon with my mom and dad. Mom historically gets convinced to go on nights when the bite is slow or the seas are rough. Finally got her first king in 20+ years with a bonus of calm water and a nice sunset. Focused around 90-110 fow.
high diver 175 back(flasher fly) 0-1. Felt like a decent fish.
high diver(flasher fly) 150 back, 8 pound king.
rigger 50 down, MS raspberry carbon 5 pound king
5 ounce snap weight back 200 with a MS green jeans, 18 pound king.
We have always ran a tight spread with a dipsy and one rigger with 2 stacked rods on each side. Tried the snap weight down the chute to get away from the boat. Kinda neat seeing it work out. Time to sink some money into boards and rod trees. It’s never ending when it comes to salmon tackle!
Late report. I figured I should start adding to the conversation instead of just reading reports!
Set up in 90 fow around 6pm and trolled to 100 with no takers. All fish came in 65-80 fow.
2 for 2 on a rigger down 65. Dark green spoon (not sure of the name). Both smaller kings.
2 for 2 on a braid dipsy back 120. White spin doctor with green tape and a dark green fly. Small king and a 17.5lb king.
The 17.5 came right at last light after trolling through bait balls for 45 minutes. Right as I started to pack up, the dipsy rod started to sing! My buddy's first good size salmon.
