  1. I think the bulk of the fish stayed on the mid to south end of the lake until the lake flip at end of July. As the water settled they moved north. The last flip really moved them up to and past the point. They have been wacking them for the last couple weeks whitehall to Frankfort. It is funny how every year the fishing sets up. I thought the fishing last year was better especially for size but I'm not complaining. The spring coho fishing was more consistent this year for me and we also were catching kings along with coho. Seems like we get way more east and north winds during the summer than I remembered when I was younger. To me the most consistent fishing South Haven to Grand Haven is th month of July.
  2. I'm sure there will still be some good fishing to be had. I didn't think the fishing yesterday was bad either. Just had my fill of salmon fishing for the year. Time for some panfishing.
  3. Fishing was definitely tougher than last couple weeks. Fished 70 to 160 got 4 coho and 3 immature kings. Fish came from 90 to 130 all on riggers 65 and 75 down. Blue splatter back plug, green rv mag flounder on fixed slider and mixed veggies ss on fixed slider. Probably be last salmon trip of year, good fishing all year long.
  4. Fished this morning from 75fow to 160 bite was definitely tougher than last couple weeks. Got 4 coho and 3 immature kings. Every fish came on a riggers 65 and 75 down. Blue splatter back plug took 2. Three came on fixed slider mag rv green flounder and two came on fixed slider mixed veggies ss. Been a good year but looking at forecast, I might put salmon stuff up for the year.

  5. Good catch seems like the meat program is working now that the water temp is returning to what it was a couple weeks ago.
  6. Decided this morning to go north and head up to port sheldon and see if the kings that seemed to be down by south haven last weekend had moved up. All fish we caught were kings and 5 of 8 were mature. What worked was 10 color with small glow plug,Riggers with glow spoons 58 and 48, wire divers one 10" abomb SD with pickled sunshine, the other with 10" white crushed ice glow SD with green glow meat, 300 cp withe 8" white slick green meat rig, high diver 155 back std green jeans.
  7. Fished 90 to 150 caught 10 nice coho 3 kings a steelhead and 1 trout. Box was definitely not as impressive as Saturday (no big kings) but better table fare. High braid divers 130 to 180 back std green jeans and 11" paddle ps fly. Riggers down 60 to 40ft with spoons. Low wire diver 100 back 11" paddle mt dew fly. 10 color was bread mag spoons. 250 copper dragon slayer SD with ps fly. 90 to 110 was best early 120 to 130 later in day.
  8. Fished yesterday and wasn't quite sure what to do with the water flip so I setup in 70 ft and trolled on west troll and by the time I made it to 110 I was like 2 for 5. I would have evened it out but was pinched in by boats. Finally got turned to a north east troll and worked that 90 to 105 the rest of the morning. My hot rods the last couple of weeks have been my wire divers with meatrigs and those never took a bite. I didn't set them back as far but did very distance back. The hot rods were my 10 colors one with mag wonder bread the other with a blue splatter back ace high. 5 color took a rip along with 125 copper. Swr high divers 130 to 165 back one with mag rv hulk one with std green jeans took fish. 250 copper took a couple bites no fish. Rigger down 45ft with fixed add line 10ft above took fish mag and std green jeans. Back at it Monday morning.
  9. I lost one of the silver horde 4 glow green the other night. Swapped it out with an ace high glow green. Nothing went to the local shop the next day and they didn't have any small silver hoarde so I bought a couple of the size 4 opti plugs and put one out the other morning on my 250 copper and it worked pretty good. Why are the small silver hoarde plugs so hard to come by?
  10. The first light and last light bites have been excellent. Sometimes you almost hope some lines don't get bit when multiples fish are on at once. That hulk spoon and the green plug have been pretty good for me also this year.
  11. Don t remember if it was 3 or 4 on together but we couldn't do anything until every rod was back in boat and 5 of the 6 got bites.
  12. Fished 110 to 155fow 115 to 130 being best. Caught 7 kings and 3 lake trout. Low wire with meat took fish 150 to 210 back. 250 copper with 4inch plug. 400 copper mag rv blue flounder. Riggers down 70 to 102 with green jeans, hulk and meat. Busy first hour with 5 of 6 rods having fish on at once.
  13. Think I was just inside of you on that southwest troll you turned and headed north when we were pulling lines
  14. I think I did but she had her opportunity to get me it just got into the wire diver IMG_20250725_234106.heic
