I'm setting up 4 copper rods for the upcoming season. Can anyone help me with what I should use for backing? And it was suggested to me to put it in 100 ft increments with mono in between to allow me to use different lengths? His anyone heard of that? What kind of knots or crimps for the copper? Thanks as always to everyone on here.
I consider myself a beginner in salmon fishing. I mostly fish out of south haven, MI. I have 2 150' and 1 300' copper 45# setups. My question is how long of a leader of fluorocarbon should I have attached to the end of my copper or should I just have a swivel attached to the copper and attach my spoons ect. Thanks for the help.
I am taking a trip over to the East side at the end of June. I have some 45# and want to run some copper with harnesses or maybe a spoon/plug pattern. What would you guys spool up for 18' to 24' deep waters. The new Bloodrun results have a 50' of 45#copper running 10' at 2.0mph. we usually run 1.0 to 1.5 I am thinking this could be a good one to start with.
