  1. Hey Mega Byte... I thought I would have seen a post or two by now.
Have you been out yet this year?
Last year was my first year doing the spring fishing and it was incredible.
Is there a certain water temperature that bring in the bait fish/ silver fish.
Or is it a day to day thing in the spring?

  2. It was open when we were heading out and on are way in it was the same.
I would drop a rigger with a orange spoon or small crank bait before you get out of the pier heads. That’s what saved are day . The boat behind us did the same thing and they picked up a few also. I wouldn’t recommend running any boards in the River channel if there’s guy’s fishing the inside.
I have a buddy who fishes the channel a lot and he does really well especially
    early in the year.

  3. Fished along the beach today.

We trolled too the south for about 4 miles running a mix of Crankbaits , spoons and 6 in spin doctors. Lists nice brown on a fire tiger husky jerk and lost a nice steelhead on a spoon. Moved out to 50ft in front of the pier heads but that was a waste land. We tried out deeper same thing. Moved back in to 30ft and hit a few Coho. Ended up 2 for 4 for the day .

Water temp was 37-42 . We didn’t mark any bait out there today.

  4. I fished from Sun up to Sun down..

Started at the end of the pier and seen a lot of Crome fish jumping but they didn’t want anything to do with clios (all sizes)moonshine spoons cast masters

    All sizes. Rapala, Yozuri, bomber’s,

Bay Rat’s. I fished Spawn on the bottom

I used minnows under floats, Waxes, All types of Jig’s = “Lock-Jaw”

I moved to the beach and the guy next too me hit one then the guy next too him hit one. Both fish fell off.

They both hit fish again and I was thinking maybe the fish are turning on

So I started paying attention to the guy’s hooking fish and it was apparent

Every Atlantic Salmon I saw caught that day was hooked in the Ass , Tail , or the side. Guy’s were casting 3/4 oz to 1oz spoons and reeling them in as fast as they could. The water was stained with about 6in of visibility.

I was fishing with some buddies of mine and we stopped for lunch and a beer they said they saw the same thing over bye the boat ramp where they were fishing. We fished until dark and only saw foul hooked fish being caught.

I hooked into 1 Atlantic Salmon and it was pushing 15 to 18lb It was a beast!!!

Actually most of the fish were on the bigger side.

I was surprised to see the amount of foul hooked fish being kept. “But to each there own”.

Atlantic Salmon are probably one of the most amazing and Beautiful fish in “Are” Great Lakes .

    I wish I had a better report.

  5. I’ll definitely check out that scale me and my buddy got a monster king a few weeks back that I thought for sure was at or over the 30lb make it was a beast. The fish maid 5 -200ft runs made my reel’s drag sound like something I’ve never hurd before and was more then 6in wide. This was a true monster king.

I decided to run NW setting up in 120fow fished from 120 to 185 hitting fish the hole time we ended up go 13 for 14. Everything took Fish from are riggers “35 to 65 down”lead core 5 5 ,7 and 10 color. Slide divers 50ft lead 100 to 125ft back.
