  1. great short trip with my Dad. Didn't get on the water fishing until 8:00 and only fished an hour but went 2/2 with a shaker and a nice king. both on a west troll in 90 fow 55 down, on a white paddles with purple mirage fly. 2.7 SOG. fog set in a little after 9:00 and that was enough to send us in. I had this king on the scale bouncing between 19-20lb.
  2. Great night to be out there. Ended up a poor 1/6. just could not keep them on. Looks like it's time to sharpen some hooks. What worked was an east troll 90-120 FOW. 60-80 down. Big kings, lost a couple near boat and the rest a bit sooner than that. Biggest fish of the night was smart! He pulled the board under water from the stike and ran about 100' that way and then went vertical, put on a great show 400' behind the boat! That got the board back to the surface and from there he ran straight at the boat to about 100' then lit up again. we got him to about 20' from net near surface and he threw the spoon. I don't want to estimate weight but he was big, tough fish to lose. The fish we did land was on the same rig, 15lb king on dr death spoon running 300' blood run copper. the other productive rig was the dipsey running braid, with black/yellow glow spinnie and green glow fly trailing, dipsey was set back 145 on setting 2 on diver. Good to see the big kings back in the area, can't wait to see these guys come August!
  3. Fished 6:45-9:15, ended up 1 for 3. Started in 120, trolled west to 220 then back to 90. Had one rigger pop at 200, 75 down, blue dolphin. Nothing until we got back into 100-90 fow then we had one on for a few seconds that hit a high diver w/ orange spoon, lost it. Shortly after another very nice steelhead landed on a 300' blood run copper, dr. death spoon. A lot of work but a nice big steelhead eased the pain of a slow evening.
