Put a free slider on last WE, 5 Ft. Swivel on lure end, simple snap on other. Not more than a minute later the rod fires. 9.6# steelie. Always worth a try.
Always try to toss the spoon away from boat, you will see spoon start wobbling as it goes down. Still get occasional wrap up. Doesn't seem to work well on braided down riggers, but I use mono anyway, but have tried it.

Most of the fishing grounds aren't visible from highway. But I'm sure compared to Downstate its quiet. Weekdays its real nice. Even the busy ports might have 50 boats on a Tourney weekend

They can see you easier than thought, since they are way higher off the water. If I can see small boats in my small boat then they can see a small boat in their big boat.

Beautiful repo, sure he will be ear to ear come x-mas. And be able to re-live the experience with just a glance, sweet.

Just curious Ryan, why do you set a max range just above what your expecting to fish in? I always use the auto range. Does that have a negative effect I don't know about?
I have only owned Lowrance, and use auto range and it doesn't jump around much, nor does it affect performance. When I say gain, I mean sensitivity. ( thought they were the same). I split my screen and zoom in on water column I want on half. The deeper and the cleaner the water, the higher sensitivity can be set.

Set your gain where you just start picking up clutter. Have to adjust it manually depending on water clarity and depth.

Wow, and I see the scumbag is still selling the stuff as we speak on ebay. That's all he is selling is Blue label flouro. Hope they kick him off.

The Ratcheting holders shine after the bite. SO much easier to just lift the rod out, than it is lean out and pull it out with a big king going nuts. Once you have them there is no way you would EVER, go back.

I would definitely look for ratcheting holders, Bert's at Northwoods are under $70, last time I checked. I use them and they are worth it.

If idling the engine is bad you better not put it under any load. Getting up on plane to run will put 100 x the strain to your engine, shaft, ect. If an Xtra bag is hurting your engine then it's already done for.
-
Cheapest is bigger trolling bags, or a couple more. Won't hurt your engine,

I sure do, also have a set of Blacks Down rigger releases that will go along also. And if he would want just stainless instead of the coated wire I can switch it out.
-
$475 for a good pair or riggers with adjustable bases.

Pair of used in great shape FISHLANDER DOWNRIGGERS WITH DOUBLE DUAL AXIS ROD HOLDERS AND BALL CRADLES.Rod holders are great, riggers have 4' booms that can be locked in up position, lighted counters, circuit breakers. One has stainless cable one has coated. Aprox. 200 ft. Each. Both work well and are in great shape see pics. Like Big Jons, and they will even service them if needed. Many parts are interchangeable. First $475 takes them. Shipping available at buyers expense.
Now will include a pair of Pursuit (traxtech) 4" raised swivel bases. Excellent shape as well, compatible with most riggers. Will fit, Traxtech, Cannon, Berts Tracks
