Great day fishing. Mostly a spoon bite. This nice 21 lb female came on a spoon over 112 foot of water, 65 down on a rigger. We ended up with 12 nice fish, Kings, Coho's, Lake Trout and a Steelhead. Had around 22 hits throughout the day. Best fishing was steady from 10:20 am on. Fish slowed down after 3:30 pm. Fishing best between 65 - 95 down over 112 - 135 foot of water. Best colors were blues. Not much on meat or flys.

Any chance you would like to give readers a chance at a water depth, troll direction, port, best colors ?

Our youngest fisherman. Poor fishing in 45 - 75. Moved out to 90 and hit em. 10 - 14 with three 16 lb. Kings. NW troll. Most fish came on lead and copper. Mag spoons of several colors. Greens, purple. Young Lucas hauled in several including this nice 16 lb King. All our fish came after 12 pm.

Right now St. Joe to S. Haven is the best fishing with plenty to do in S. Haven for your wives.

It is great that you report but how about some information for those of us looking to head out?

Sorry but that was on 05/21. Copper and riggers were our best option.

Fished from 3 pm to 8 pm. Heavy fog until last two hours but very calm. Tried water from 75 - 45 with 50 - 55 deep the best. Landed 4 - 9. We caught 3 Coho and 1 King (16 lbs.) Best depth was 30 feet down. Every application had a hit except for wire. No fish hit a fly. Magnum spoons best.

Try again on Friday. Good luck fishermen.

Fished Tuesday and Friday. Tues - hit the water at 1 pm and off at 4 pm. ! King, Lake Trout, and 2 Coho. Lost two others. Fished just south of pier in 17 foot of water. Best fishing. Tried in close and got one. Best batis - red thin fin, medium dark spoon. (Purple)

Friday - Fished 17, 8, 30, 40, and 50. Nothing. Met two guys who caught six in 20 foot of water south.

Caught these two the week after Labor Day. 23 and 18.6. I count these as two 20 pounders if you do the math. Add them together and divide by two = 41.6. Had them on at the same time off the point during combat fishing. One hit a fly the other a spoon in 50 foot of water at 8:30 pm.

Fished the same time two years ago. No one on the water and no help from the locals. Let me know what you do because I am interested in the next two weeks. Skeemog (sp?) is full of wood if you have never fished it. Great habitat. Hope you post your experience because I just loved the area.

Wow - Aren't we a bit touchy. Seems like a lot of fihermen worry about others. Everyone just wants to enjoy the water the same as you guys. I am sure we have all ticked someone off and I am sure it was not on purpose. The price you pay when fishing is good. Lets just talk about the fishing and help each other out. Just making a statement.

Thanks for the St. Joe report. My three buddies and I fish St. Joe often and never see many reports either. We post when we catch fish. Excited to hear about Perch. We are up to more postings for St. Joe. Thanks again.

Found Perch in 45 foot of water. Fished 1 pm. Kept 24 over eight inch. Threw back another 80. Found them south of the pier in front of the dunes. If not familiar with this area it is the first large land mass you come to about three miles south.

Fished Lud Wed. through Sat. Big ones in 45 to 55 ft. 5:30 pm to dark. Our best were around 6 pm and right at dark. Picked up 16, 18.6, 23 during this time frame. Fished AM and PM and never any that size in AM. Plugs, flys/spin doc., mag spoons. Good luck

First time fishing Luddington. Friend and I and my 17 foot Lund. Best water 45 - 70 feet, best presentation Magnum Sister Sledge spoon, green/blue fly on Chartreuse spin doctor, and 4 inch green J Plug. Fishing has been slow but steady. Pm being our best time. Last night we headed to the pte for the first time. Hit a large Coho in 45 at 6:15 pm and lost another three and caught two more by dark. At sunset I had just reset a 150 copper after loosing another fish and it immediatly went off. After three runs we were able to clear one side and get the board off when our rigger went off 35 down. After a 5 minute fight we got the smaller of the two to the boat neted it after placing the first rod in a rod holder while trying to avoid other boaters and continued fighting the fist eventually neting it. We were two very happy campers and will be back soon. 16 lb. and 23 lb. Kings.

We found fish from 45 to 65 down. We never tried deeper because everything was working. We went directly on a 270 heading to 180 foot of water and started. We worked out to 225 and then headed back in and hit fish on a SE troll at 200. Our best was 175 to 185 both NW and SE trolls. We really hit fish when we switched to all spoons and used small ones. We also didn't hit a fish on the riggers for three hours until we stacked with add lines. They fired often after that ! I believe we were hitting cold water pockets because the fish were within a small area south of the pier. We could see the Chalets directly east of where we were hitting most fish. Hope that helps.

Hope this helps you guys at other ports. We decided to head to deep water after hearing some good reports. Our speed & temp. went down as soon as we set lines at 7 am. Took us two hours to dial in. We finally increased our ground speed to 3.0 - 3.2 and finished our 15 fish limit by 2 pm. We lost another 10 -15 fish as they flipped and jumped clear of the water. Set our stuff from 45 - 65 down. Kings, Coho, Steelies, and Skamania. Best day this year! We have been fishing 80 - 100 since June and picking up 3 - 5 fish a day. Full copper, full core, wire dipsy, and riggers all firing. Best bite was when we added small spoons and add lines on our riggers. Go figure. Eventually switched to all small spoons and fish continued biting. Had three fish hit as we cleared our rods with our limit. I think we could have caught fish until dark. Hope this helps.

I would suggest starting in 100 ft. of water and look for bait fish. We have caught fish from 100 - 120. As the light goes move into 70 ft of water. You won't see the kings on your graph but they are in there. Haven't been since last week but the water was still cool. Surface temp. 53 with water at 48 down about 60 feet. Standard colors working and fish are hitting almost nothing but spoons. Try different size spoons. Good Luck

For those of you who would like to know whats up. Hit the pier on Wednesday at St. Joe. A lot of fishermen, great weather, slow fishing. About a dozen Coho caught from 8 am - 3 pm.

Friday - Trolling the lake from 7:30 am - 4 pm. Very few fish showing. We hooked and caught three Coho. Saw boats around us doing the same. Water temp. 34 at the beginning of the day, got up to 36 when we quit. We trolled the mud line, went to Cook and trolled all the way home from 6ft of water to 30 ft.

I am new to the site but would like to add some observations. My two buddies and i have found that there is a decent bite after noon. We fish at least twice a week. Although we are not catching a limit at that time we have caught five to ten nice kings the last three times out including thurs., and friday. Fishing out of st joe. Thursday all three and four year olds during that time period mostly on spin doctors and flys. We have also started early with a short window of catch until pm. Hope this helps. Jim
