  1. I run a hds 8 for my Radar and lake maps and a hds 7 for my depth/fish finder. They have both worked flawless. I can see my 12# balls down at 80-100’. I also like the extras and ease of the system expansion on the lowrance. I added the sonic hub and Sirius radio to the system and it is great. You can control the radio or ipod from your depth finder.

  2. Your 47s will hole more than enough wire. Our high divers are braid and deep divers are mags with wire on 9' talora roller rods with swivel tips. I like the different lines in the event of a tangle- makes it easier to sort out what's what. Agreed on the wire- watch for kinks- that stuff is pretty much bulletproof but I have had to take 30-40' of it off and reterminate about 10 times this year.

Champ is a expert on tangles. Most of them involve copper not wire divers.

I run the sealine 47's, malin 7 strand 30# and Jr's wire dipsy rods 8 1/2 in and 9 1/2 out. The Jr's rods have tungston guides and no roller or twilli tip. Im fishing 6-8 weekends a year and this setup just finished it's 3rd year with out any problems.

  3. When i call people i want to know TWO things, how much water and how far down there coming. Its a new quiz for me everyday to figure it out. Being on the water everyday helps. If something is smoking hot for someone then ill change it up, being on active fish and right dept is more important then light green vs dark green to me.

You could not have said it better. When you are on fish speed and depth are key. The 70's porn moonshine was a hot spoon for us.

  5. Nice work Kyle wish I would have seen you at the landing. We were out after the rain Saturday and were 13/15 from 2pm to 5:30 missed the peak time but a good run. Then hit it sunday early and did great should have had our 3 man limit by 7am but the would not stick. We started 1-7 in the first half hour couldent even get the full spread out ended up 9-18 or so lost track of the hits. We did get 1 25# 4year old, solid fish and the guy that caught it was on his first salmon trip ever. He is hooked!!
