Fished north of Manistee this past weekend and did very well for the tough conditions with the cold water so high. Fished Friday night and pulled in 7 salmon and one lake trout, let two small kings go the biggest was 23.5. Went out Saturday morning and landed 13 letting two small kings go, we had 7 kings that went between 20 and 22.5 lbs. Sunday morning went out of Onekama due to winds and landed 12 and again letting go two small kings, this time we had a nice brown and 3 cohos in the mix. Monday morning the water was cold with the surface being 45.9 degrees, we still managed to put 9 fish in the boat 8 kings and 1 coho, the last fish of the morning was a king that went 27.5 lbs, what a fight in that cold water. We went out saturday night and landed 2 kings so we decided to just fish the mornings. All in all we took home 38 fish with 15 being ove 20 lbs. and the smallest king we kept weighed in at just over 13 lbs. What a weekend for us, we look forward to it every year and this year was exceptional. We where tenative to go up due to the poor reports but luck was on our side this past weekend. I am going to try and post a pic of the big king but its on my phone and I am not sure how to attach it. Good luck to all.
