  1. A buddy of mine has an Amberjack just like it that I've fished out of many times. It's got to be one of the best riding and most fishable boats I've been on! The only other one I'd put in the same class is my brother-in-law's new Pursuit "Denali". But.. For that kind of money.. it better be nice. Best of luck with your new ride! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)
  2. Joined the site earlier this summer but lost all my bookmarks in a "puter crash". Just stumbled back across it! We only managed three trips out to the eastern basin of Erie this summer but did very well on the walleyes! The days we could get out.. we limited out almost every time. Lots of nice "eater" size fish, as well as the occassional Hog! It's almost time to put the big boat away for the year, but my little one will be rigged and ready to hit the local river for walleye shortly! My wife thinks I'm nuts, but if I can keep the eyelets for freezing.. I'll be out there! Anyway..got the site bookmarked again and plan on being more of a "regular" from now on! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)
  3. We managed to get two days on the water over the holiday weekend. We launched out of Barcelona Harbor and ran to the PA line.. trolling our way back. Although we didn't hit any real "Hogs", we did manage to boat 22 walleye. Most of them were in the 7 to 9 pound range. The larger fish seemed to be coming from over deep water (90-100 ft.), but 35-40 feet down was the magic number.. regardless of depth. Our best producers were Renowski's and Bomber Long A's behind 5 and 6 colors of leadcore off the boards. I don't know why, but dipsies and downriggers did poorly even at the same depths! I think we only took one fish on a worm harness. Hope to be out there again in a few weeks. This is almost like the "old" days! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)
  4. Thanks for the welcome! Caznik.. By far, I've caught more walleyes over 10 out of Erie than anywhere else. The largest there was 12+. But.. the biggest walleye we've boated came out of L. Ontario.. while salmon fishing! That one went 13.5! We thought it was a pesky laker and just horsed it in.. almost losing it at the boat! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)
  5. Chris Stack here... aka "Sluggo". I'm a die-hard walleye guy and love searching for big walleye on big water! I live in upstate NY and fish the eastern ends of both L. Ontario and L. Erie. My favorite is the eastern basin of Erie... usually out of Barcelona, NY. We fish out of a 1800 Lund Fisherman, which handles those waters quite well dispite it's size! We're outfitted with almost every gadget I know of.. even added "auto pilot" last year! I was just guided here from another site, looked around and liked what I saw! I plan on being a regular visitor and contributor. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a fishing report shortly.. heading to Erie next Thursday! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)
