  1. Nice catch, I'll have to meander up that way someday and try some new water.
  2. Got up this morning to some heavy winds in Linwood and decided to head to the DNR launch at the river mouth to have a buffer from the winds. Fishing was great east of the Island as we picked off 28 eyes, keeping 16 eyes in 2 1/2 hours, and running out of meat. Good times with a couple buddies and one of their sons. Came in for a quick bite and too head back out. Went out for another three hours before dinner with my son:grin:, and caught 25 eyes, keeping 5, 1 perch, 1 white perch, and a 12# cat(he was so proud of it, his biggest fish as an 8 year old. Purples, blues, and greens on bb and harnesses, along with some worm burners behind boards. 5-8 fow running 1.2 to 1.8. What a great day for the first of the year. Will post pics once I am able to get this years album going.
  3. Nice catch, sure gonna miss not getting up to hit Little Bay this summer.
  4. Thanks for the info guys, a new tactic to try when I get back to the west side later this month.
  5. Had a chance to go back to my old stomping grounds yesterday with a good friend of mine. We spent 3 hours on the Manistee and caught 10 Bass and 10 Northerns. Had a couple follows from Northerns in the 32"-36" class. Spinners were the ticket.
  6. Nice catches, GJ guys, looks like I'll have to explore Caseville someday!
  7. Had a chance to make my third trip to the bay today, and this is the first chance I have had to make a post since joining. Left this morning with a buddy out of Linwood at 8:30. Ran NE to 20 fow and by 9:30, little white bass, perch, and 4 small eye's burned us out of our 3 dozen crawlers(first time needing more than that). We decided to run back in, grabbed more crawlers, switched spots(due East and set up in 20 fow) and trolled towards the plug, and caught 20 eyes and 4 really nice perch. Kept 7 eyes 20-24" to go with the perch. It is great to have such a healthy fishery. Gonna enjoy some fresh fillets for dinner. System: Trolled 1.1 to 1.3 w/bouncers n harnesses complemented with divers n spoons blue holographic/silver backed/blue n purple beeded harnesses and purple w/ copper backed spoons
  8. Just gettin around to figuring the site out. I grew up fishing Manistee and I have lived and fished all over our great state. I have been fortunate enough to fish many of the great areas around the lakes(Bays de Noc, Stannard Rock, St. Mary's River, Drummond, the Straits, Huron, Erie, Lk. Michigan, the "Bay", and St. Clair system. Man I love our state. I love the adventures and challenges of fishing new water. The information here is great. Looking forward to future tips and sharing information. It humbles me with my limited time to fish now, how many parts of the "Bay" I have yet to fish. Thanks for running a great site, Jake:no:
