In South Haven 100FOW is 5-5.5 miles out.
Like Nick said....you can see land from over 11 miles out.

Nice job on the eyes Ken!

Nice job Paul!
You can add a 4oz dive bomb to a 1/2 core and it will get your bait down the same depth as a full core.

New name for the GLF boat? What is the GLF stinger bait?
I had it created for last years Great Lakes Fishermans Challenge. There was only 20 of them made.

Top row, blue and gold spoon.

I store my net on the side of my boat, and it lies next to a boat cleat. Once in a while the net gets hooked on the cleat.
Does someone make a cover that I could snap on or clip on to the boat cleat so my net does not get fouled on it?

Went fishing after work yesterday out of South Haven. I was joined by Terry(DIRTY DOG), Craig, Mick, and Dale, and we ended up 11 for 12. We lost the one fish at the back of the boat, because the net was hung up on a boat cleat on the side of the boat.
We worked 135-145FOW until it was almost dark, then put it on an East troll and trolled into 80FOW and pulled lines. On the East troll, we picked up a couple of fish in 130-120FOW.Picked up one king on an 11" Protroll double fishscale paddle with a Siggs Rigs Brushed Stainless fly, on a rigger parked at 90'.
We also caught fish on the following Stingray sized spoons.
"GLF" on a full core.
Blue Dolphin on a full core.
Mixed Veggies on a 1/2 core.
Blue Dolphin on a rigger parked at 40'. (This rigger had the carmel dolphin as a slider and was the hottest)
Carmel Dolphin on a fixed slider on a rigger parked at 40'.
NITRO Fireball on a rigger parked at 40'.
NITRO Shockwave on a fixed slider on a rigger parked at 60'.
As I was walking along the dock before we went out, I heard these peeps coming from below, and looked down. I saw 3 baby ducks stranded in a zodiac.
I climbed into he zodiac and gave the babbies a hand.
MOMMY.....Hear I come!
Happy duck family.

One fatality when boat sinks in Manistee

Manistee -- A passenger on board a charterboat in Manistee died today when the boat sank this morning near the mouth of the Manistee River Channel .
Seven people were on board, according to U.S. Coast Guard Station Manistee. A "good Samaritan" vessel picked up the passengers and at least one occupant was transferred to shore and taken to West Shore Hospital for treatment of injuries and hypothermia.
Coast Guard Station Manistee found no evidence any other boat was involved, Petty Officer 1st Class Shannon Rootz said shortly after noon. The Manistee County dive team was searching for the boat using both divers and sonar, Rootz said.
Conditions were foggy and visibility was low this morning.
Station Manistee received the call about the accident about 4:45 a.m. from Coast Guard Sector Milwaukee.
