Hey Guys, I think its on the ones handed out so every one has the same stuff in the water. BL, the goat pecker was really hot last year and the new crybaby has everything to be great, chartruse, mirage, UV, mountain dew UV head blah blah blah. Good luck guys hope it goes well, BW
Just to be clear, I wasn't saying I didn't like the flies that are getting handed out (the cry baby looks awsome), I just have been doing well on other flies this year (the Homosezwhat XXXtreme UV in particular). Thanks for supporting the tournament.

(provided) Big Lake Lures
(provided) Big Weenie fly's
I think it has to be on the lures they give ya!!!
Wow, i missed that, thanks for pointing it out

I'm assuming that the big fish for the BLL and BW pots need to come with the lures that are handed out? Just wondering because I have other BW flies that I like.
-
Very nice steel!!!

Keep and eye on here for reports too, most of the guys that fish out of Holland try to get reports up after they go with the depth of water and direction they fished. Welcome BTW.

Welcome Scott. This site will defiantly increase you catch rate:thumb:

I would think it could be welded at low heat and not cause any damage to the gears but I have never had the lower housing apart see how close the gears actually are. I've used JB weld on cracked oil pans on cars before with good results but I'm not sure if the same would be true for something running in water:confused: I would check with a marina, I'm sure you are not the only one that has done this

I run snubbers on all of my divers. When using wire they give you a little more shock absorbency in addition to the rod so that you don't break anything.
-
If your running spoons of the divers, don't be afraid to go with a 12' leader Matt.
Still sounds like a great trip.
Ken knows what he's talking about here. After I lengthened my leads per his advice, I have started to catch more fish on my dipseys.

Here's a few pictures my Mom took as me and some friends were heading out on the 17th.
I'm basically done working on the boat for the time being. The one thing I do want to change is getting some spreader lights to clamp on the top to shine out more toward the rods (the lights by the downriggers light up the water great but you can't see the rods all that great). I also want to add more rod holders to put unused rods in but that will probably wait till this coming winter. Other than that, I keep adjusting the boat setup slightly after each trip and each trip out keeps getting smoother. See you on the water

P.S. Yes, I know the boarding ladder is down in the water. I didn't notice it until after we had run to 100 ft and went to set the downrigger

Thanks for the ride Mark. I don't know if I would count your first fish which would make us 7 for 11

-
Nice fish Jonas

-
Good job getting the Vets on some fish Mark
-
I have one but have yet to try it, I'm waiting for a day that I can get out in the afternoon when the fish arn't biting and try it. I know the temp works because I can blow and it and watch it change.

Definitely a tough night out there. Good Job.
-
That's how it was here Josh, I was out Thursday night and we went 7 for 14 but Friday I only got 2, 4 in the morning yesterday and 1 at night. It's crazy how quick it changed.
-
Sounds like I should have made my way further south last night. Good job Ryan.
-
You right on the money for here, started about thursday or friday.
That's for sure

-
That was a beauty of a fish Nick, nice meeting you last night too.
-
Thanks again for the ride Dave. How did you end up tonight?

I headed out with two friends three for my fourth trip in three days. Powered North of the peirs to 80 FOW and set up on a south troll. We weren't marking much so stared heading out a bit. We started marking them in the 100-110 FOW range and kept running south in about 106 FOW. While we were changing a few spoons on the lead, got a hit on a diver. Landed the only fish of the night, an 8 lb laker. Fish came on a blue bubble SD pulling a Big Weenie Homosezwhat XXXtreme UV fly running on a wire Walker 124 on 1, 115 Ft out. Kept heading South till we got the the sliders and then started heading north again. On the north troll, good a reeeeeally nice hit on the same wire diver, fought it for a couple of minutes, then it got into the 10 color and was gone. I'm pretty sure it was a 4 yo. king, but I never saw it.
Here's the rig
That was the end of our night, I tried everything I could to get more fish in the boat but with no rewards. Anyway, it was and AAAwsome night on the water, flat calm, perfect temperature, the only things that would have made it better would be more action and fewer little flies. Now I'm going to go crash after my fishing weekend, Tight Lines.

P.S. Nice seeing all of you guys at the dock and cleaning station, sorry I didn't stay longer and chat but my one fish didn't take too long to finish and I was ready for bed

Those Flounder Pounders have been killer for me this year. Good Job

-
That's crazy. I was out with Mark (Cassy II) that night and couldn't by a hit on the spoons you listed:confused: Moonshines were the ticket for us. We ended up 8 for 14.

Went out for a short trip with two friends and Javier from work. Base on my trip the previous night with Mark (Casey II) I ran out to 100 FOW South of the peirs. Got lines set by 7:30. Started working a south troll in 110 FOW marking fish the whole way. Didn't get any hits and heard some people doing some in 90 FOW so headed east south of the sliders. Got to 90 FOW and just as I was starting to turn back north got a big rip on the wire diver (124 walker on 1) 120 ft out with a glow back blue dolphin. Javier was closest to the pole and proceeded to land his 2nd mid teen King in two trips. By the time we go the fish in the boat we were in 65 FOW, shallower than I wanted to be but it was starting to get choppy and didn't want to head back out really. Landed a shaker on a wonderbread on a full core and then called it a night.

Thanks for the report Terry, I'm planning on heading out tomorrow night with some newbies. Good Job on the killing.
