I feel in love with Frankfort!! We stayed at the East Shore Marina and evryone there was super friendly. After the crowds I'm used to in Ludington, Frankfort was a nce change of pace.

Fished out of Frankfort for the 1st time Sat am, Sun am & pm, and Mon am taking 23 Kings and a 14 1/2lb Brown. The biggest king was 19lbs with 8 over 15lbs. Meat on the wire dipseys was by far the hottest bait, the brown took a Raider blue dolphin on a 1/2 core with a 3oz snap weight off a walleye board. Fish came at pretty much all depths, sun pm 100 back on the dipseys was hot and the next morning it was 200 back. All in all a great few days fishing a great port!!

Thanks guys. It looks like if I want to use the 300' of 45lb I have to go to a Takota 800 or Penn 340 or the Okuma 55. I appreciate the info.

I have a 300' spool of 45lb copper I'd like to set up but I'm not sure what reel to use. I have an extra Penn 330 but I'm not sure the copper, backing and leader will fit. Anybody running this setup that can help me out? Thanks!

Hi all, my name is Lonnie Allen. I live in Royal Oak, Mi, I'm married with a 2 year old daughter and another little one on the way. I have a 1986 Trophy 2460 hardtop I call the Fin Chaser and fish mostly out of Ludington. This will be my 3rd summer with my boat and I've learned a ton from reading sites like this and then applying that knowledge out on the water.
