  1. Has anyone installed the Lowrance Outboard Pilot with the cable steer drive on an I/O boat with power assisted cable steering? I recently bought my old boat back and need to replace the old Raymarine sport pilot+ unit which is no longer working. Based on the installation details, I can't see why it wouldn't work but I'm curious to know if someone else has tried it. This is the pack that I'm looking at. Outboard Pilot Cable-Steer Pack | Marine Autopilot | Lowrance USA
  2. Thanks for the positive feedback! Price has been reduced to $10,900.00
  3. 1987 Four Winns 245 Vista (w-complete repower) • Complete repower in 2013 (over $15,000 invested at that time) • 2013 Mercruiser 6.3 litre 383 Stroker 350HP/430lbs tq New fully dressed Mercruiser crate engine. Absolutely no parts were used from the old engine. • 2012 Mercruiser Bravo 1 • 2013 New throttle control • 2014 Powertech OFX4 16" stainless prop • 145 hours on the repower (about 80 of the hours spent trolling at 600 RPM) • 2007 Yacht Club trailer with sure lube hubs, new tires in 2012. Has 1 spare tire and tows very easy. • Bert's downrigger and rod holder track around entire back deck • 2 Walker electrics on Traxtech swivel mounts (old school riggers but they do the job) • Flat back deck with no doghouse • Enclosed bathroom with electric flush toilet (new 2013) and 15-20 gallon holding tank with pump out. Your wife will love this feature! • Freshwater and/or raw water washdown system • Freshwater system (for sinks) • Furuno FCV-620 with Airmar B60 flush mount through hull transducer. Never looses bottom. • Lowrance Globalmap 3500C GPS Chartplotter (with 10 years of Lake Superior & Lake Michigan hotspots marked). • Fishhawk X4 depth & temperature probe system • V-Berth sleeping area • Under cockpit midship sleeping area • Kitchenette • Nice stereo (new 2013) with MP3/ipod capabilities • New cockpit upholstery 2010? • New cockpit enclosure 2011 • Top speed about 40-42 mph • Cruising speed 30-34 mph • 72 gallon fuel tank • Folding rear bench (nice for family cruising when not fishing) • $10,900/OBO The good: We've owned the boat since 2004 and it's been a great boat for our family. The new engine and drive package is an excellent match for this boat and it runs like a brand new boat (mechanically it is new). The boat is completely set up and ready to fish for Great Lakes Salmon or big lake Walleye. If you're looking for a 100% reliable boat (if there is such a thing) with a reliable trailer, this will provide years of fishing/cruising at a great price. The bad: It's an older hull and it has it's battle scars. That said it still takes a decent shine and we still get the occasional compliments at the launch. There are certainly newer looking boats (late 1990's) in the same size & price range but that still leaves you with a 20 year old engine and outdrive........ The reason for selling the boat is that we bought a cabin a couple years ago and decided that a pontoon is a better fit for our current needs. 4. Yes, it's the 245 Vista. After looking into it a little more it sounds like my thoughts about the Bravo 3 being a bit fast at idle seem to be true on similar boats. I could just run the bags but there is also the Bravo 3 $600-$1,300 propeller sets and shallow water to consider. I have to navigate a relatively shallow bay to get to my marina which is typically 5'-8'. But with this years water levels being close to 2' low (and GL water levels trending low in general) that could put that bay at 3'-6'.
  5. I'm working on a repower which is going to require a conversion to a Bravo outdrive. For those of you that have Bravo 3 outdrives (dual prop), what size boat do you have it on and what is the minumum speed that you can get down to at idle? It would be nice to have the Bravo 3 performance but I'm leaning towards a Bravo 1 in the interest of not having to mess around with trolling bags,
