Hi, one week-end in early jaly last year out of Port Darlington on Lake Ontario, nobody was catching anything and we brought in a mixed limit of Kings, Steelies and 2 nice browns. All of these were caught on a Dreamweavewr super slim area 51 spoon with a copper back. A pro from Quebec that was out to film a video for TV, used one of my copper back area 51 spoons the next day and did real good also.

The rest of the season, the spoon still produced but not on a regular basis. I always keep one in the water on a high diver and I will be looking for some browns near shore with this spoon next spring. I guess that copper most work better on a cloudy day, that's was the case on that july week-end last year.

That's what I wanted to know. Maybe someone else out there has there idea on the size of hooks that should be used with a regular and with magnum spoons, And what make and model.

Hi, I'm planning on changing a bunch of hooks on some spoons. Regular and magnum size. Question is, what do you use as far as treble hooks, make model and size? What would be the best size treble for a regular 3 3/4 spoon and a magnum spoon.

Hi everyone,

I need advice on what size and model treble hooks should I buy to replace or to put on spoons for great lakes fishing. Most spoons that need new hooks are 3" 1/2 to 4 " spoons. Also what are your preference between regular nickel or new red hooks.

Also what is the best size split rings and who makes the best to attach to both ends of your spoons. As anyone seen much different in fishing with and without split rings.

I bought a couple of packs of lucky strike rings and they are lousy, they become out of shape as soon as you open them up with a split ring tool and do not recover their original shape once attached to a spoon.
