Fishing with Jay there usually is some kind of excitement. Falling out of the boat, electrocution fish cleaning style, and now this. You fell out of the boat at "Whitefish" lake, you electrocuted yourself at Muskegon, and now you get a hook stuck in your eye whitefishing at Muskegon. Im beginning to see a pattern. Stay away from anything Whitfishey and Muskegon. Glad your ok!

We stayed till around 3:00 Jim. Sorry about your rod, that sucked for sure! We got quite a few more keepers after you left. The bite is definitely on!

The DNR was out in force in Muskegon last night. They were checking and then confiscating fish and gear out by the lighthouse. They had a LOT of fish in the back of their truck.

If it isn't in the MOUTH... kick it back in!!

Been out to Musk. 3 times so far..... never failed to catch a bunch of biters. Been vertical jigging the new BPS Tungsten spoons... and we've been outfishing most of the other guys out there dropping Hopkins or Castmasters. I think the smaller size/equal wieght is a big advantage. We still get the snagged fish dont' get me wrong... but we seem to get more biters than most guys.

Next time I'll make sure to pack a side cutters with us when we go!!

This 42.5" 35+ pounder came out of the Grand in late October. Got a Master Angler award for it too!!

More than any of us could ever eat!

Fish was released. Yes it was a bit nasty looking... but it put up one hell of a fight. I did NOT want to come into the boat and did everything it could to avoid doing so.

As for Alpha Buck, I've asked him to simply leave me alone as I want nothing to do with him ever. We'll see if he's man enough to respect my request.

Here's the biggest fish I've ever landed. Got this one on Monday evening from the Grand.

Buddy and I boated 20 salmon Saturday... fought and lost about 40-50 others... they were just stacked in our favorite spot. Hot n Tots and green yarn flies took most fish. At times you couldn't help but foul hook a fish there were just so many. I'd say we had a 50% bite rate. We only kept one loose hen for spawn and the smoker. All others released. Headed back one more time after work on Monday... hopefully there are still some fish there.

To add to this: We caught at least 20 salmon and had one steelie get off today (saturday) on the Grand upstream from Johnson Park. Tots did well as did flies.

Fish the rivers... we've been getting a LOT of salmon from the Grand upstream from Johnson Park on hot-n-tots. Lots of fun when they slam one of those!!

Fished with GLF (Great Looking F....ella???) and Rich (Caznik) this morning and of course Mike introduced me to this site. Just started poking around... looks like some place I can learn a few things and offer some of my experiences as well (be them as they may).

Of note, the three of us boated 5 Kings, 2 Coho, and one (as GLF put it) "small" 26" 13 lb 4 oz Brown. A fun time was had for sure!!

Oh and Mike, you can reel in the next lead core...
