I'm setting up 4 copper rods for the upcoming season. Can anyone help me with what I should use for backing? And it was suggested to me to put it in 100 ft increments with mono in between to allow me to use different lengths? His anyone heard of that? What kind of knots or crimps for the copper? As always I'm leaning on you guys for help. I have managed to have a free weekend and would love to get on big water one more time. Would love to chase steelies,browns maybe salmon. I was thinking Holland but willing to travel. Any ideas where to start? What do I use? Or should I grab the aluminum boat and hit the rivers? I am looking to upgrade 6 rods in the off season. I currently run 2 leadcore and 2 mono divers and 4 rigger. Can anyone tell me how to set up 2 wire rods and 4 copper? Or how would you set up? Thanks to everyone.

I have two rods set up with 1 full core on each. Can you use these with planers? Any idea on how to fish lead core would be greatly appreciated. I'm kind of a gear goober and have the stuff just don't know how to use it.

Have a newbie question. I have been connecting my lures directly to a quick connect. Is there any need to directly tie the lure to the line? Any input would be great. Thanks!

I just picked up 2 this week. Although I haven't used them yet. They seem to be good construction although still a polymer body. It's a step up from the magda reels. Hope this helps.

I am fairly new to salmon fishing. I have a Lowerance elite 5 sonar unit. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if/how I can see the thermalcline with this unit? I have read all of the literature with this unit and can't find a definitive answer. Any input would be great.
