GLF
I do not have a service manual. My boat has twin I/O's. I can move one of the outdrives 1/2" to 1", and it moves without the other one moving. I do not think this slop is normal. What is the probable cause and solution for this? silver one
Mike Do you have Hydrolic or mechanical steering? If it is mechanical then I think you know the reason. and I believe 1" is getting to the fix it factor.
GLF
I only have a power steering pump on one motor. So....I only have power steering when I troll off the starboard engine. There is something that connects both of them together behind the engines. I am not sure how it connects to the outdrive as I do not have a manual. The boat is 75 miles away, so I can not run outside and take a peek at it.I am hoping someone with a little insite on twin I/O's can shed some light on this for me. GLF
Brek(Redeye), Brett(WFS) and I resolved this today. I do not know the correct name for the part, but I can describe what we did. There is a compression coupler at the top of the outdrive where the outdrive pivots. This was not tight on both of my outdrives. We tightend both of these today and everything is tight.
