fish eggs

I realize that most members are boat fisherman. Most of the fishing I do is in the Lower Niagara river and I use roe often. I was curios if any one fished with roe, and if you do what method do you use to cure it.

I cure mine with sugar and salt and orange jello..

Start out with 1 gallon of river water or clean ditch water (if you can find it) and pour in 1 cup of uniodized salt and a 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 box of orange jello, stir till all ingredients are dissolved and put your eggs in and soak them for 8 to 12 hrs stirring about every other hour, drain and rince with river ,ditch, lake water let dry and put them in a good sealed container..

Thats it ...Hope this helps...
