Muskegon 6-1

Fished from 3:30 PM - 9:45 PM with my daughter and a newbie - overview is that we went 5/8 all Kings and 2 nice ones lost in battle.

Started in 85 FOW and out to 160 FOW. Started on a NNW troll and turned south, easing into the 135 FOW range about 2-3 miles south of harbor where there were some temp slicks and good water - but  few marks the whole time. Surface temps stayed right around 57 deg. - and 48-50 down to about 85 FOW - so no real temp changes - especially after blowing hard for a few days.

Fishing was slow for the first 3 ours with only 2 in the box - 7# and 10# kings - then about 6:30 or so things picked up a bit and culminated in a 20# king right at sunset.

Most of the fish came on 1 set up - wire magnum dipsy - 180' back 2.5 setting with blue crush SD and a poofster fly and the deep corner rigger - down 130' with white crush SD and little boy blue fly.

Last king - the big one - hit a double orange crush down 85' on the other corner rigger.

No boards fired at all - couldn't believe that one!

Happy hunting - tight lines!
