It's been a solid start to the 2016 season, first with browns and lakers in shallow (and steelhead in the streams), and the past two weeks with steelhead, Chinooks, lakers and the occasional coho, mainly 3 to 8 miles off shore but deeper if you want to run, too. A lot of top 30 with spoons but some suspended action with flies and spoons, too. Many 5- to 10-plus fish catches on privates over Memorial Day weekend and many charters with 10 to 20 — or more.
