East Grand Traverse Bay - Elk Rapids 8/29/13

I took some visitors out on the bay yesterday evening to see if I could get them a King Salmon experience. We took two Kings. One was about 15 pounds and the other 10 or so. The larger one came on a wire regular dipsey set on 2 out 171 ft. with a bare Moonshine Magnum Flounder Pounder spoon in about 140 FOW on a North troll out in front of the harbor around 8:00. The smaller one was on a rigger with a White Glow Spin Doctor and white fly down 85 ft in 140 FOW just after sunset.

We had several rips that didn't get hooked up. When we came in I questioned two other crews and they were both skunked. They appeared to be fishing like me but didn't have the same luck.
